Hi Aussie's,

Got a complex question for you.I am an Indian Citizen with Australian PR.I am in India with my wife and had lived in NSW Australia for 2.5 years before moving to India. My wife USC, has applied for my immigration petition which is now in final stages, as my case has been transferred from NVC to New Delhi embassy and interview on 13th June.

Trouble is, NVC sent checklist for "AUSTRALIA POLICE CERT NSW/QUEENSLAND". However, if we check reciprocity by country on DOS website and select "Australia" as country, it states " overseas applicants must apply through AFP", which I did and submitted my AFP police check to NVC.

I don't understand why are they asking me police certificate for NSW/Queensland.Queensland is the place I never visited in my life but I did live in NSW for 2.5 years. And Yes, I am pass out of Central Queensland University Sydney Campus.Did this Queensland trigger RFE?

Moreover,I contacted NSW criminal record branch and they referred me to AFP as overseas applicants can not apply for NSW Police check. To obtain NSW police check I need to be physically present in NSW which does not applicable to me.

Please Suggest what should I do...

You did the fingerprint AFP check correct? If so I would include another copy (probably lost it) and also paperwork showing that that is all you can receive. It's just a stuff-up on USCIS's part.

Here is the Aussie police check link for overseas applicants: http://canberra.usembassy.gov/obtain_police_cert.html#outside You could print this page and highlight the relevant section.
