Noooo we are still on k3 process.. but I am hoping if anyone here can answer me.

The I-129F petition filed by your husband will most likely be administratively closed, then NVC will continue to process your approved I-130 petition -- thus you will automatically be on the IR-1/CR-1 track. At the time of your interview at the U.S. Embassy in Manila, if your marriage is less than 2 years -- you will be issued a CR-1 visa, if your marriage exceeds 2 years -- you will be issued a IR-1 visa.

The K-3 is a visa that is rarely issued, it is basically an obsolete visa option. I hope that answers your question.

Yes, you are right... but for now we are still waiting for an approval of our petition.. And my other friends advised me to proceed cr-1 , so I am planning once we can get an approval from 129f we will inform the agencies like usem, uscis, nvc that we wish to cancel the k3 and go for Cr-1 ..... we suite for Cr-1 since we are only 5 mos. married. So do you think my friends advised me well? to contact those 3 agencies and inform them that from k3 to cr-1? Thanks for the reply.

You don't need to contact anyone, the I129F will be closed

If, for some reason, the I129F isn't closed, simply ignore any correspondences regarding the K-3 visa and it will die on its own

Nothing for you to do now but wait

Good luck

Sorry to intervene in this post with a question, but I am in a similar situation (I129 and I130 approved the same day even though the I129 was sent about 2 months and a half after I130 - We would like to go the CR1 route).

You all seem to agree that it is highly likely that the K3 will be administratively closed and that's valuable information for me. That's maybe a stupid question, but do you know if a notice is sent to the petitioner or applicant informing them that the K3 is abandonned or not? Or do we just assume that it will eventually be closed? Also, canadian_wife, you said to just ignore any correspondances related to the K3. Is it clearly written on the documents which document will be used for the CR1 and which ones will be for the K3?

Your question has been answered. In simplest terms, completely forget about the K3. You are on CR1 track now, plan accordingly. You don't have to contact anyone. USCIS has (or will) put you on CR1 and that's the information that will get passed to NVC. If you do have any concerns about the I-129f being a problem, contact USCIS customer service at 1-800-375-5283; they will help you.

In hindsight, what others are trying to tell you, there is no reason anymore to file for K3. It is basically obsolete, as I-130s are processed just as fast as I-129f. In the old days, I-130 took years sometimes, so K3 visa was a nice, temporary way to allow married couples to be together during the wait. It wasn't necessarily bad advice to get, just unnecessary.

Your k3 will be administratively closed. The K3 is now an obsolete visa. The k3 was used until about 6 years ago when the i-130's took longer to approve. I-130's now have about the same processing times, so now they just approve both at the same time and automatically process as a cr1. hope this helps!

If you study the CR1 guide, you'll know what's coming next. Unless you get a notice that your I-129F was forwarded to the Consulate without any further activity on your part, consider it dead.
