My wife and I did not notarize while going through the K-1 ours and it was just fine.

Thanks Caryh

Hey Julie!

No, there's no need to notarize any of the documents. Your signature is more than enough... just don't forget to sign the letter and the G-325 form good.gif

No. It does not need to be notarized.

This is why VJ generally advises AGAINST using lawyers. They are the source of misinformation more often than not.

I signed in blue so that it would be obvious that the signatures were original and not copies.

Coconuts Thanks a lot for all the information you gave me it is very helpful. Ok i will sign mine blue ink too. GOD bless you!

So does this mean it needs to be notarized? NO I am really confused. What about my fiance letter of intent to marry does he need to notarized it too in the US? NO

Response in blue.

When the petitioner signs the I-129F, Part D, the penalties and certification statements are more than sufficient, therefore a signature notarization is not necessary.

oh? too late for me.:( i already had mine notarized, signed and sent back to csc. i trusted a friend of mine who hired a lawyer to get their process easy, told me it has to be notarized. pfft. well, just excited to get my NOA2 now.:)

It won't have any negative outcome on your case. The lawyer probably encourages it so they can charge for the service. :P

Exactly!

The factor does not affect the result tongue.gif You should only have documents notarized when they specifically as you for it (which is requested sometimes for some documents). Notarizing anything that goes into the Packet 1 will not have any impact on the petition, it will only impact your wallet biggrin.gif

Agree with others here as there is NO mention of it needing notarization. In case you need more clarity on things, this is the link to US Embassy Manila packet information for the K-1 interview. It is very much needed and detailed so study it well. US Embassy Manila Instructions

Hi Every one! I am sending all my documents to my fiance this week, but i need to know if the letter of intent to marry needs to be notarized by a lawyer here in the phils? Pls need help

My husband and I got our bona fide marriage letters notarized in Philippines and for him of course in US. Although, I am not sure about a letter of intent to marry if it needs to be notarized. Yet, I suggest that you have it notarized just to be sure besides, you are just being carefully if you do so. Good luck.
