We sorted it out, I guess :)

I received a checklist for it and we sent a an explanation letter on the situation plus an affidavit for the use of the house of my parents in the US and a copy of the property tax.

They accepted it, but it came all down to the decision of the vice consul.

The decision is positive which is great but another area where each country makes their own decision so you don't know until the interview if it is OK or not.

Congrats to everybody that got approved this week!!

It must be a great feeling....just one last bit of waiting for your big brown/white envelop!

We are patiently (ok, maybe not patiently) waiting for Thursday.

03/19/2012 NVC received my case!

03/20/2012 Got case number! (I called)

03/21/2012 DS-3023 sent & AOS bill paid online

03/22/2012 AOS bill shows PAID

03/23/2012 Instructions for I-864 accessed & emailed DS-3023 AGAIN!

03/24/2012 I-864 sent to NVC

03/27/2012 NVC received I-864 packet

On Friday we got the packet with the passport and the "do not open" envelope. Considering the interview was on Monday and Thursday was a holiday in Brazil, I am very impressed with the fast service :)

Now just figuring out how to sell all our furniture and pack everything into the suitcases!

Well Peaksy (you already know) and everybody else - my wonderful husband was APPROVED!!

Lots of crazy questions, more than he expected, but it was quick. In and out in about an hour.

It dawned on me the other day, how much responsibility this interview is for the applicant. I didn't share this with my husband because I didn't want to make him more nervous! LOL But he was thinking the same thing. It all comes down the interview regardless of how your paperwork was and everything else you did up to that point. Luckily I have a great husband who is quick on his feet!!

Thanks to everybody here and good luck!

Now we just wait for the courier to arrive and then.....POE!!
