You, the biologic parent can sign for your minor children.

When I petitioned my stepdaughter, my wife signed her own name (not her daughter's)...then placed (on behalf of minor child) after her signature. This was accepted with no problems.

Good luck with your case! Keep us posted!

Hello markieboy,

My husband who is a USC filed an I-130 for his stepdaughter (my daughter) on February 9, 2012. We received a NOA1 on February 22, 2012 stating that her I-130 petition has been received. Also, I checked my daughter status online and it stated that is on initial review. I checked it on a daily basis but there was no changes for the last 3 months. It say's on the USCIS website that the waiting process for minor child of USC is 5 months. Is that true? or there is a possibility that it will be delayed? My question is, how long it would take for that initial review to be approved? What are the next step to complete the petition for my daughter?

Please help!!!

Thank you.

Hello, I have brought my wife over on an IR1 visa. I am USC. Her daughters have now decided to come. They are considered step daughters as they were younger than 16 when mother married me. Now they are 17, and 19.... Can I still file for a IR2 visa?... And what about aging out?

Yes

... And what about aging out?

They won't age out. They are in the Immediate Relative category and once the petition is filed, their age freezes.
