My grandpa is petitioning my uncle, his wife and their daughter. He is too old to sign the affidavit of support, I am willing to sign but am unsure how to proceed.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

My grandpa lives in Northern California and I live in Southern California. Do I have to go up north or can I sign it down here and send it to him or, maybe, file it myself.

He has to be the Sponsor, you can be the Co Sponsor.

Presumably he applied years ago?

He still needs to sign one, as he is primary sponsor.

If you mean he doesn't make enough money then yes, you can help. You will fill in your own I-864 and provide tax filings etc. No need to do it with him present, you can just send it all to him and he can send your papers off with his.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
