So my fiancée's visa just got approved at GUZ at about an hour ago, the weather was terrible, but the interview went smoothly, we are having lunch right now.

Hang in there everyone that haven't got their visa yet, good luck.

Will post a review of GUZ in a couple days.

Don't mean to throw wet water on your celebration, but until she actually receives her passport back with visa stamp, she is not approved despite what the letter says following the interview. Did you read the caveat below the "Congratulations! You are approved. Now you are ready for the next step..."? It says, "In rare cases, your visa may still be delayed or refused..." It goes on to warn you not to make flight plans. My experience is that it is wise to wait. Hind sight is 20/20. -Still waiting........ It's been 7 weeks now since the "approval" 3/20/12 with no word why and no date given. Its like being on a plane without a pilot and wondering when, if ever, it is going to land.

Gawd that has to be sooo frustrating. Hopefully the visa will appear soon. Congrates to the OP, can't wait to read your review. The weather worries me as I'm flying into Shanghai at the end of the month to spend a week with my fiancée.

Agree, vehemently !

see http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/234971-red-flag-list-for-visa-denial/page__view__findpost__p__3601421

basically, yer lass is so nervous about the interview, she forgets to ask this important question.

Happens to most, to forget to ask this question. IMO, it's important. Don't ask? Then call DoS Hotline after the interview (wait at least 48 hours) and inquire for casefile status.
