Does anybody know if I can apply for Cpt after my opt has expired. I got sposnorship but a bit late. I have not used CPT at all. I also got two degrees ,. but only one year OPT. that does not seem fair. The immigration system is so clouded. Nobody told me i need to apply for opt straight after first degreee, otherwise i loose it. I went onto second degree and got masters.

CPT is when you are still in school. You graduated already so there is no CPT for you. You can extend your OPT.

02/06/2015: In-Line for Interview

04/15/2015: Passed Interview

05/05/2015: Oath letter was sent

05/22/2015: Oath Ceremony

What field is your masters? If it is one of the STEM Degrees, you can extend for 17 months. But not sure how much time you have to take care of this since you said your OPT expired already. You have 60 day grace period to stay (not work) in the US after OPT. But yeah, no CPT once you graduate.

Just want to add, be careful not to overstay beyond your grace period. If you have sponsorship for H1B in the works and it is taking longer than your allowed 60 days, I would go back to your home country and wait there for your H1B to be processed before you start accruing overstay days here
