Hey everyone! Firstly, this is a great and really helpful resource. Thank god for VisaJourney.

Anyway, so I mailed my K1 petition on Monday, April 30th. I filled out a postal money order but didn't put an address for the US Department of Homeland Security. Just made it out to them and put my name and address under the "From" section. So I stuck that in my envelope and the had my package sent priority mail certified to the PO box address. Anyone else ever done that? What kind of experience did you have with mailing? I'm hoping it wont be a problem to get it signed for since I sent it to a PO box. It didn't even occur to me at the time. I know that priority/certified mail can't be tracked, but when I checked online it hadn't said anything other than it being sorted at my local post office. It said it should arrive May 2nd (today) and that's it. It doesn't say if it's arrived or anything. Talk about confusing. Can anyone help clear that up for me? Also, was it ok for me to leave the address section blank on the money order? Thanks guys! :)

No problems, wait for a notice in the mail in 2-3 weeks.

Guess I spoke to soon about not hearing from the post office. I just checked and found this:

We attempted to deliver your item at 7:29 pm on May 02, 2012 in DALLAS, TX 75222 and a notice was left because an authorized recipient was not available. You may arrange redelivery by visiting www.usps.com/redelivery or calling 800-ASK-USPS, or may pick up the item at the Post Office indicated on the notice. If this item is unclaimed after 15 days then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

Ughhh. what should I do???

You should be fine. They will pick up your mail tomorrow probably - just check again. Mine did the same thing on May 1st! Its a PO Box, and they have to sign for it so they can't deliver it.

Yes, i was also lucky, mine arrived at 11:45 am and no one available too sign for it. Then my next message was it was delivered and signed for at 12 noon. Made it 15 minutes in time to save a day!!! Your next update will be "it is delivered" as soon as someone comes to clear out the PO box.
