Hi all,

Been a while since I've been around and I apologize if this is posted elsewhere, but my wife's passport(CDN) has expired and we haven't been able to find out how to get a new one with her name change on it. Thanks in advance for the help.

Have you not tried Passport Canada's website? http://passportcanada.gc.ca/cdn/form.aspx?lang=eng&region=USA

She won't be able to do a Simplified Renewal Application if she wants to change her name.

US citizen since April 2016

ROC completed April 2014

AOS from K1 completed February 2012

Ya they don't " renew " the passport. You have to apply for a whole new one because of name change. I did that recently from the USA. Fairly simple if you have someone close by that is Canadian and fits the requirements for guarantor.

Follow the guides on the PPC website. Thats the place to start.

Thanks. Don't know about a guarantor but we'll see what we can do there. A co-worker's husband is Canadian so I'll see if he fits the bill.

You can use family members - so if a parent or someone lives in Canada, you can always send them the forms and photos to sign and then have them mail it back to you.

I used my Mom and just had her sign forms on a visit.

Hi I just did mine 3 weeks ago, I had to send proof of marriage all original documents i had to do full canadian passport application and send it all to family in canada for it needs signatures and references, I had to send copies if DL with married name and copy of SSN all copies must be signed by guaranter stating they are true copies, I called canadian passport office and they told me exactly how to do it, it went smooth, got my new passport back with all originals it was easy

good luck
