My fiancé just received the RFE notification...will it result in further delay in our application?

I am wondering how long the wait is going to be after we submitted the requested infor they need.

Has anyone got RFE before n how long the wait to get the NOA2.?

Yes. That would have been an approval if all was in order. Your case has been adjudicated, it was found to be not complete. The delay will depend mostly on what is needed and how quickly he gets back to them with the items he did not include initially.

yes, it might be an illusion, but i have noticed those who get RFE back very quickly, get approved quickly. Those who take a month to get it back, it seems to take a month for approval... just what i have noticed, but not really studied the data too closely. Anyone else notice this?

If it is true it is a coincidence. The ones processed the fastest are the ones where the deficiency is simple...missing signature for example. Missing birth certificate. Missing passport photo. Cut and dried stuff. Those are the ones that get sent back fastest, because they are simple, and they get processed fastest because they are simple. If it is more complex or more vague, such as not very clear evidence of meeting...then it may take longer to gather the needed items and longer for them to review it and make a decision.

I've already prepared my back-up "meeting in person" package... just in case. I sent in what I thought would be sufficient, but also to make my package lean and trim, but don't know it it will be enough. I sent 2 itinerary of my round trips, including an itinerary of my fiancee traveling back to kiev with me for 1 night (i had layover so she joined 1 leg of the flight), also included was photo of us together on airplane (as well as several other photos), and finally our passport photos which were clearly both from the same photo-mat in Ukraine as they had Cyrillic notations in the white space around the picture... will see...??? Hope i don't need the backup.

I am just worried that with the RFE , we need to wait for another 5mths or more for NOA2

In most cases, once the RFE is sent and reviewed, a decision is made fairly soon after. Within a few weeks.

They have 60 days to review the RFE response. If they don't finish in that time and you call them its possible and most probable they will tell you again to wait.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Your in a holding pattern, so your file is at a stop until the RFE is answered, the sooner you respond to the RFE the sooner the process of getting your petition moving again, I had an RFE in 2008, took 45 days to get it moving again.

It's actually a good sign since USCIS is getting track on your papers. although response to NOA2 may depend. some get their approval after 3days.. but ours took a month. so we really cant predict. just try to compile all the things USCIS needs and send it asap so you could get quick results. Good luck!:)

Can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you..

I think it only took like 2 weeks to have an approval after I sent back my RFE. I doubt there's any truth to the wait longer to respond takes longer to process theory. My guess is it's like the original petition, how much do they have coming in for RFEs to sort through and respond to has more of an impact. Best you can do is respond promptly, but I wouldn't hurry too much since you need to make sure you send everything they ask for.

Just depends if you the petitioner have the document or documents, or if you need to get them you SO, as I stated early, the 45 days to restart the processing came from the fact that it was a document my SO had to get and I didn't have it. So once I was able to respond to the RFE, it took 2 weeks from submission to restart the process again and another week before the approved packet was sent to the NVC, it was at the NVC for 4 days before being sent to the US Consulate.

As you see, the results differ. I completely missed answering one question on the I-129f and received a RFE. USCIS received my response in 1 week. It cost us 60 days because of that oversight. Hopefully, yours won't take that long and your visa journey will get back on track soon. Good luck to you and yours!
