I don't have a current US passport and it will take too long for me to get it. Do I have to send a copy of it or is the US certificate copy good enough?

Day_00 05/04 Mailed package (I-130,I-485,I-765)

Day_03 05/07 Package delivered.

Day_07 05/11 Email notification & Text (case accepted on 05/08)

Day_12 05/16 3 NOA hardcopies

Day_17 05/21 Received biometrics appt (scheduled for 06/05)

Day_20 05/24 Walk-in biometrics done!

Day_74 07/17 Received SMS (Appointment for Aug 22,2012.)

Day_75 07/18 Card production order (Work Permit)

Day_? 08/22 Interview and we got approved ! :)

a week after just waiting for CG to arrived in the mail.

birth certificate is okay

but you can get an expedited passport. just write expedite when you send it in

What is a US certificate copy? Are you a citizen by birth or naturalization? Any acceptable document - as suggested on the USCIS website - that can verify your status is good enough.
