Ok so we finally received a SMS notice that we have our appointment for Aug, 22 2012 . What to expect? How can we prepare for the interview? Pls feel free to share your experience if anyone already had their interviews Thanks.

Ok so we finally received a SMS notice that we have our appointment for Aug, 22 2012 . What to expect? How can we prepare for the interview? Pls feel free to share your experience if anyone already had their interviews Thanks.

Congrats! I would recommend reading through the March or April threads since most of them have had their interviews already (no need to go through the all thread, read from the point where they started the interviews).

-You will receive a mail listing what you need to bring to the interview.

- Here is a sample of interviews questions

Our Interview:

The officer led us to her private office and she asked us to remain standing while she swore us in.

She asked us to sit.She asked for ID from each of us. We gave her our state id. She had a file with our application and it seemed like she was already familiar with it. She started by asking my husband these questions and she later asked me to:

1. state your full name

2. your parents first names

3. the city you were born in

4. is this the first time you have been married?

5. do you have any children?

She then asked me "is this the first time in the US for you"?

She asked for other supporting documents.......we gave her our picture album,bank account and lease.

She asked for original copy of our marriage license and my birth certificate, she verified it and returned it back to us.

She had our I-485 in front of her and took a red pen and checked off each line to confirm what we had filled out on it. She also asked us for proof when we told her we see each other every month as we dont live becos am doing my Medical clerkship in Chicago and my husband works and live in Boston MA. And we provided our itinerary and she was satisfied with it.

She asked my husband what he is doing for a living and She asked if i live alone or live with someone else.

The whole thing took about 10minutes. When she was done, She said she had everything she needed and i was surprised, because i had more proof i didnt even get to show her...... All in all everything went well!

Hey! Finally I got an email saying that my I-485 was approved and card production ordered. Now I'm starting to feel that it's real!
