I guess I'm still not on the clear on getting an RFE.. When's the safe zone? Does anyone know?

There's no safe zone as you can get an RFE at the interview.

Day_46 06/20 Interview Notification

Day_79 07/23 Interview. Approved.

There's no safe zone as you can get an RFE at the interview.

04/4/2012 - Went to Civil Surgeon for med exam

04/6/2012 - TB results negative and received the sealed envelope for i-693 (medical records)

Day 1 05/30/2012 WEDS - Package delivered to USCIS office, signed by John Chybs @ 4+pm

Day 4 06/04/2012 MON - Email and text notification that application has been received @ 7+pm

Day 7 06/07/2012 Thurs - Hard copies of i-797 (NOA) received

Day 9 06/09/2012 - Sat - Biometrics hard copy received, appointment for July 2nd.

Day 52 08/08/2012 Weds - Received notification for EAD Production and Post Decision Activity for AP

Day 58 08/16/2012 Thu - EAD/AP card on hand

Day 68 08/30/2012 - Thurs - INTERVIEW DATE!- approved on the spot.

6/19/2012 - Biometrics completed.

8/02/2012 - Interview @ 2:00

8/02/2012 - Email notification of GC production at 5:30pm

8/07/2012 - Second GC production email

8/07/2012 - EAD received.

In a perfect world, you shouldn't have too but in my case I realized they did not activate text notification despite my request, so I had to set it up manually on the webpage.

Same here. Got no electronic communication at all until I finally called to get my case numbers, registered on the website, then enabled text and email notifications there.

Not really

but I think almost everyone gets two emails said" card production ordered" when they got approved for both EAD & AP?

It's normal

It seems to be their normal MO: "card in production" , "card mailed", "card picked up by USPS".
