Does it ever tell you online that they have sent the biometrics notice? Or you just find out when it shows up in your mailbox?

They didn't say anything about whether they sent the letter yet.

but I think when they put your information into the system, they sent the letter out right away.

so I think your appointment letter should be there by the end of this week. :lol:

I just got a text message with the 3 case numbers (AOS, EAD, AP). Happy to, finally, after 15 days, get some news.

The I-485 case status on USCIS website is on the "Acceptance" circle and the statement starts with "On May 21, 2012, your fingerprint fee was accepted and we have mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case", however the other 2 ones are on the "Initial Review" circle. Is that normal? Thanks everyone :)

April 3rd 2012: I 130 send to Chicago

May 16th 2012: I 485, I 765, I 131 send by USPS priority mail at the Chicago lockbox

May 18th 2012: AOS received and signed by D.Colonna at 2:18pm at Chicago

June 4th 2012: got my all package return, restarting from level zero again :((((

June 6th 2012 Wednesday (day 0): Info pass and resend the whole package by USPS express mail at the chicago lockbox

June 7th 2012 Thursday (day 1) : package received and signed by Arturo B at 11:45 am

June 19th 2012 Tuesday (day 12): text notification that application was received by USCIS

June 20th 2012 Wednesday (day 13): check was cashed

June 26th 2012 Tuesday (day 19): Hardcopy NOA dated June 19th.

June 28th 2012 Thursday (day 21): appointment notice for bio on July 9th at 1:00 pm

It doesn't speed up your application. Sometimes an applicant cannot make it on the scheduled biometrics so a reschedule is needed

Some people think it speeds things up. I think the jury is still out though. The little bit I've reviewed people's timelines, it looks like they don't get their interview date until after their scheduled bio date, no matter what. But, it MIGHT help.

Got my bio appointment today, scheduled on June 5th, 2 weeks from today.

I am gonna try to do early walk-in since the place is only 5 mins drive from my house. :lol:

So I see you had a successful walk-in biometrics. I just got my letter today, and mone is scheduled for June 16.

I was wondering if anyone did an early walk-in in Chicago ASC (on Broadway).

AOS Journey:

Day 0 - 05/10/12: Mailed AOS package to Chicago Lockbox via USPS Priority Mail;

Day 1 - 05/11/12: Package delivered to Chicago Lockbox;

Day 6 - 05/16/12: NOA1 email/text notification;

Day 7 - 05/17/12: Checks cashed by USCIS;

Day 9 - 05/19/12: Hard copies of NOA received;

Day 13 - 05/23/12: ASC Appointment Notice (biometrics scheduled for 06/15/12);

Day 19 - 05/29/12: Walk-in Biometrics (second attempt successful);

Day 32 - 06/11/12: Email and letter in hand with an appointment notice for the interview (scheduled for June 12, 2012);

Day 63 - 07/12/12: Interview at National Benefits Center: APPROVED!

Day 68 - 07/17/12: Email saying that I-485 was approved and card production ordered!

Day 72 - 07/21/12: Welcome Letter in Hand!

Day 76 - 07/25/12: Green card arrived in mail!

It really depends, if it's not difficult for you to get there, you may just go have a try.

The lady at our ASC is not very happy about me trying to do early walk-in,

but she let me in coz it was a very slow day, there were only 5 people waiting.
