So I went to check the process of my case on the USCIS website. I have had my NOA1 for about 20 days, but when I checked the case it read: "On May 1, 2012, the post office returned your document I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN as undeliverable. If you do not contact us at 1-800-375-5283 within 180 days from May 1, 2012, this document will be destroyed and you will need to file a new application with fee."

It was already accepted by the USCIS, I don't understand why they would be sending it back? I did call and ask if there was any way that I could get the original of my marriage license back. I accidentally sent that instead of a copy. I don't know why they would attempt to return the whole package. If they are going to try to return the whole package, they can keep the original! I am definitely calling first thing in the morning so I can understand what's going on here. But, maybe some of you have an idea about what this means so I can sleep tonight!

I think you should worry more on why they said its undeliverable. It means they sent you it a while ago and it did not reach your address. They should have your current address on file, confirm that with them when you are on the phone.

A returned petition can be for out dated forms, incomplete forms, forms completed incorrectly and unsigned pages.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

I haven't moved, they should have my current address on file. I thought that once it was accepted by the USCIS, and NOA1 was received, that they had looked for all those small errors?

Yea hence why I said I would worry more about them getting your address wrong because they shouldn't have, specially since you got your NOA1. Something is strange there...

Well, first thing this morning I called the post office to make sure that everything was in order there. I had set up a mail forward a few months ago while I was staying somewhere else. Everything was fine there, they have my current address correct at the post office. Then I called USCIS, the woman I spoke to said it did not appear that they were attempting to return my petition, but that some sort of notice had been sent back undelivered. I can only assume this is the notice about my attempt to get my original marriage license back. She then explained that mail from USCIS cannot be forwarded anyways, so it SHOULD have come to my house... but didn't. She couldn't tell me which address it was sent to, so I went ahead and had her resend it to my house. If it doesn't get delivered this time, I think I will set up a P.O. Box and see if that fixes the situation.

That's good that you got the situation resolved. (it appears to be) It really annoys me to no end that the customer service reps don't seem to be able to access simple things such as a petitioner's address? Why in the world not?! I had to get a correction done myself, and the CSR I spoke with couldn't tell what address was on my petition to begin with  But she assured me it was corrected and she asked for my email. ( I received email confirmation- although it didn't confirm my current address?) I guess this is for security measures, but it sure is annoying

maybe the postman not know you live there?

make a new namecard with the names of the ppl that live there, tape to inside of your mailbox.

then meet up with your postal carrier 3 times over the week, bringing brownies each time. They will be certain to remember you.

The carrier is always the last one to know that a forward order has stopped.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

LOL @ the brownies. I might make some brownies for my mailman with some extra ingredients. He likes to mix up important mail (just for kicks I think..or maybe he's new glasses?)

Dont take it other way and might not be the best time to remind you( you are already on Stress, I feel you) but it is definitely worth it in long run....Original/certified copy of beneficiary’s and petitioner’s marriage certificate is REQUIRED document for Immigrant Visa (IV) package during NVC phase....

Thanks, I knew that it was part of that phase, which is why I'm really trying so hard to get it back! My husband has the other one in Morocco, which he will send to me if I can't get the original back from USCIS, but it would just make things a lot easier if they could possibly make a copy of it, and send the original back. If that's even possible. If it's not, they can keep it.. and I will have my husband give me his for the NVC phase. Then when he's here, I think we will have a small wedding here and get a license in English.

there is another way.

when you submit the DS-230, include a cover letter, asking the reviewer to open all of the casefile(yes, the I-130), and dig out the original marriage certificate, and put it with the DS-230.
