I will be submitting a I-129F Petition for Fiance Visa soon, and I will be travelling to Russia to meet my fiance's family.

We will submit in 2 weeks (Mid-May) and we will be in Moscow from Mid June - Mid-July, then we are going to Ukraine together until Mid-August.

I have taken time off work to get to know her family and have my job waiting for me when I return. I have a letter from my employer.

My questions:

Should I explain this situation in the cover letter?

Can/should I request an interview when we are both in Moscow?

Can this cause me problems in any way? (what if she is given an interview date when we are in Ukraine?)

Thanks for your advice.

Your petition should be approved in 4-6 months. Take approx another month to be able to schedule interview, then plan your vacation around the interview date. I hope to be approved and scheduled in the next 4-6 weeks... then i will buy my plane tickets.

Welcome to the forum.

You have an interesting proposed schedule and scheme. :guides: The timeframes mentioned in the guides are pretty representative of visa processing times. Remember that these visa processes are dictated by US government bureaucracies, and as such, it is their ballgame, their playing field, their rules and procedures, not yours.

Have a great vacation in Russia. Take plenty of photos that can be used as evidence when you submit your visa petition.

Good luck on your visa journey.

Sounds like our vacation will not be a problem.
