Not really the point here but neither Iran nor North Korea ever wanted to invade the US, there was never any "risk" of America speaking "Iranian" or "North Korean". Neither of which is a language, by the way. They speak Korean in North Korea and Persian, Azeri, Kurdish, etc. in Iran. *Sigh*

You're right no point.

This shows the power that a missing "an" can do to a sentence.

My brain formulated "an Iranian or North Korean language" but by the time the feedback reached my fingers the "an" had been lobbed off.

Congrats on your massive knowledge of languages of the Iranian people, I am sure that you're the hit of any party, you wity person you

Yeah, the whole thing is so laughable. North Korea can't even feed itself. I doubt they could manage to put together a vessel that was even sea-worthy enough to make the journey across the Pacific. Anyone who thinks that there is a chance that they could actually so dominate this country as to get us all speaking Korean has to have his head checked. Even if the US had no military at all, there's no way they could pull it off. Before they try to govern someone else's country, they should try figuring out how to govern their own.

If she doesn't have a SSN she would only be issied a temporary military ID valid for 90 days. So unless she gets it redone every three months she probably doesn't have a vaild ID. The military takes care of its families and they dont go by he said, she said so unless he submitted a copy of a divorce decree they know he is not a single father. They could make him file for your AOS and if he tries to stop you you could the police now that you know English so well.

After reading all the posts, I am ready to give my "expert" opinion. I work for Legal Aid and I interview people who want our free services. They usually embellish their stories and part of my job is to get the truth our of them. Even though we are here to help them, they know that they are more likely to get the help is their story is appealing, even though they are actually creating a disservice to them by lying to us. The original poster is is the same situation.

The poster first said that the marriage was a "secret" and that husband did not want his CO to know about it. However, poster has military ID which means that husband did fill out the proper forms and has official told the Navy about wife.

Poster was been arrested twice, it seems for domestic violence. The police will not arrest some without some evidence, specially TWICE. Husband had to have scratches at least.

Poster claims that the whole world is against her and that her husband has this unbelievable power to convince everybody (the police, his CO, the doctor, the lawyer, etc.).

And her "I do/did not not enough English" excuse for nobody believing her is BS.

What does poster want really want? If she is so scare of husband, she can call the local shelter and her problems are solved. Well, at least the abuse problem. If all she wants is the green card VAWA is her best option. But don't sugar coat your story because you are doing yourself more harm than good.

I believe the truth is in the middle.

Life is beautiful

that's not true! my military ID is valid until 2016 and they STILL don't have my SSN in their system! please don't make comments, that aren't true. SSN has nothing to do with any military benefits.

Because I don't like anybody else anyway and why wouldn't I be with him if I have my papers done? If I have it done he will be more respectful to me, he will be afraid to lose me, he will love me more, if I'm independent. What is wrong if I wanna stay with my husband? I came here for him, I came to marry him, and not divorce him. I know he was always afraid that I might run away, that's why he didn't give me much money, just a little and checked me spending them right away so I couldn't save any. And if you are russian go keanu.ru. I been seating on that site since 2008, I have same name there and you can see how my English grew month by month.

Because he's still being very controlling. He's essentially forbidding you from legally having a life in the States... meaning you will ALWAYS DEPEND ON HIM.

OP mentioned before, that of course the military knows about her, but he husband is telling his commander that they are divorcing. for his CO, there's no reason not to believe him. squadron commanders are very busy with other stuff & wouldn't follow up on the situation. also, even if he would have enrolled her in the DoD system without telling his commander, he wouldn't know about his wife. commanders don't get the information: listen, one of your workers just enrolled his wife. my husbands command didn't know until we told them in person. the military is big. keep that in mind.

Uhm it is true. I saw it with my own eyes in the regulations when I was issued a 90 days ID card before I got my SSN. And I did not say anything about benefits.
