I'm sorry but I don't believe a word of your post. You seem to have an answer for everything that is thrown at you. You have the freedom to be able to be on this site for so long but you paint the picture of an abusive husband who has been lying to you about everything. From the picture you paint of him he would not have given you access to a computer where you will be able to find so much info. From reading the posts I too was shocked at how good your English was and to think you learned it from tv and all that with no one to practice it on. No matter how smart a person is I doubt they would grasp it that quickly.

Oh ok.. I didn't say I'm not going anywhere, I have friends, they invite me somewhere sometimes, but it's only when they can go and can drive me, so it is not the same when you do your legal stuff. So I can go somewhere if I ask my husband for permission and if someone is ready to take me. But it's different when you have to have an appointment with your lawyer or something and ask your friend to get off from work to drive you there. I might do that but it's just not always 100% that it's going to happen. So I depend on many things. And I wanna be more independent.

And what about my English? Just because I had much time to learn it you don't believe that it is possible to learn it in front of TV? I was 25 when I came and I had doctors and baby teachers to talk to almost every day. Or you don't believe that I'm here for 2 years? Or that I didn't speak when I came? Keep in mind that speak and write are two different things. I can put everything in google translate and get almost same text. So it's nothing special about it.

It is not possible to learn the level of English you display in front of your TV in two years at age 18 + And where did the grammar and syntax and punctuation education come from? Sesame Street? Yes, speaking is easier than writing, which is why children SPEAK before they write. You write excellently when you WANT to, or when you forget we can tell the difference. TV does not tell you where to put commas.

Google translate sucks. If you put anything in Google translate it would be immediately obvious due to the numerous errors and Russian words coming straight through because the translator cannot distinguish the context or you mispelled it. Anyone that ever used an online translator, particularly a relatively crappy one like Google translate know that. I suspect you have never used Google Translate for anything. So while you are at it, go ahead and try it. Write something in English and translate it to any language and translate it back. COPY something in Russian, anything, put it in Google Translate and see if the result looks like what YOU type.

You are changing your story again and that indicates it is not true and using more excuses that are not plusible. When you find yourself in the bottom of a hole...stop digging.

Even at school we had English class but nobody could speak or understand. They don't teach that, it's another level. You learn faster around native speakers.

Lived in the FSU and did business there. This is just too much.

NOTHING is consistent with my experience with Russian speakers learning English. In two years at age 25? With NO schooling? Next time choose to impersonate a Canadian or something, some other native English speaker.

Agreed. My other issue is she claims it was in her first year that she was arrested (and with domestic violence complaints it doesn't look good for a VAWA attempt) and at THAT time her English was so poor she couldn't be understood, but now a year later it's miraculously better? If she knew her written English was better (which to be honest is also hard to believe that writing is better than speaking) why didn't she WRITE her testimony? Surely they would have asked her a question which she was able to write the answer to. Or indicate that she needs to write. Or ask for a translator or SOMETHING. She claims she was able to properly convey herself to DOCTORS (medical terms are easier than standard English?) yet not to Police?

This feels like a VAWA scam. She states she "just" found out what he should be doing. She didn't have a bad word to say about him except he hasn't filed for her GC until someone suggested abuse and then it just piles on more and more...

How do you know they're in the right order? With many languages the order is different. How do you know the computer is giving you the correct spelling for the correct version of the word? For example their, they're and there? How do you know how to look up the word in the dictionary if you're not sure how to spell it? You need to know how to spell it to find it... then you need to be able to read the definition of the word. You even write English with a capital E. I often make stupid typos like writing did instead of didn't and yet you've had none of the same issues... it's just... bizarre and I'm sorry but your story gets less and less believable.
