Ok, I was born and raised a Jersey girl. I am educated, well liked and proud to be american. I married a foreign man. Everyone kept telling me to find an american....I didn't find one that suited me. Yes, we american women are strong willed, strong minded, but we are passionate, compassionate....like all other women. And yet, we are supposed to sit back and allow other people trash our country? NO! I did not ask my husband to come here! It was his choice! And, I would have gladly moved to his country (before the Syrian revolution started). But that does not mean I like my country any less, or his less. I will not judge anyones country without being there, and seeing firsthand what it is like.

But do not dare speak ill of us, and expect us to sit back and allow it! I will defend my country! And I say again.....IF YOU DO NOT LIKE US, OR LIKE MY COUNTRY.....THEN LEAVE! PLEASE DO US THAT FAVOR! And same goes to all american born citizens who want to bash the USA!

In central America El Salvador I think is the poorest country.. After Haiti which is the poorest of the hemisphere.. Of course they would want to come back.there is nothing better waiting for them only gangs.. The thing is ppl every country has it's flaws and this country does not escape to that. It is great country? Yes. But it also has many many problems.. Let's not try to cover the sun with a finger now.

I dunno, the fact that my better half is there - and yes, we tried him living in my country and it didn't work out financially. I couldn't give a rat's #### about racism or other #######.

20 Million illegal immigrants are a strong enough percentage and proof that many consider the US a place they will do whatever they can to live in. And those 20 million illegals are not just from Mexico, Cuba, Guatemala etc. A good percentage got on a plane and came to live in the US and refused to leave. 20 Million people is equivalent to the population of some countries. Some people swear their allegiance to this country during their US citizenship ceremony and then come and bash the same country here on VJ.

Having friends from all around the world I would say NO!! the US is not universally loved or desired as a place to be. My fiancee never even wished to visit here till she met me, and many of my friends started with very negative views. They believe our country to be snobbish and the people here have a very self inflated view of ourselves. I do tend to see their point when I view it from their standpoint. My fiancee is a Dr. of Dentistry, but it's not good enough for the US, instead she must return to school here for two years before she can even test to practice. In the meantime the level that she can practice is even par with someone who has practically no schooling whatsoever. It's not a favorable situation, but the main thing is love will make you do things that aren't always the best choice for you. Is the US a great country with a lot of freedom and choices other countries do not have? .. YES .... Is is the best and all people want to come here? ... a resounding NO. I do love the fact that we are charitable and help others, but as a whole I feel the US people have a you owe me respect, and a impatient attitude just because they are born here. Just my two cents

I kind of agree with this post.. About the accent and why men marry foreign women.. It is because U.S women want or act so independent to the point that they think they don't need a man and most of them treat men like garbage.

I think the OP is under the misconception that obtaining either a spouse or fiancee visa anywhere else in the world is a breeze. Its not really. It is true that other countries can be more tolerant in some things, but there is ALWAYS a wait. My family is Greek born but we all hold an Australian citizenship through naturalization. When my sister married and she and her husband decided to move back to Australia, they were informed that a spousal visa could take 10-12 months to be issued.

The fact that they took the risk for her husband to enter with a tourist visa and adjust status in Australia is regardless, he could have just as easily being shipped back to Greece.

I don't consider the USA the "land of milk and money" it has its problems just like ANY other country in the world. However this is the land where my "hunny" lives and so does his adorable daughter and for us it is the easiest way to be together.

Don't jump to your guns, the US did nothing for me yet, let alone "allow me" anything. So far I've been pumping money into it, and I will be doing so for quite a while before I am even entitled to start looking for a job.

And we will be moving someplace else, I will always be an European girl, the US is merely a stop that, hopefully, won't take more than 2 years. We will leave the US to those Mexicans that are so eager, my goal is Europe.
