I totally agree with this post. My wife (from Russia) wants to come to the USA mainly because it will be a better lifestyle and also better weather to deal with. I on the other hand would love to leave the United states. I'm very tired of the way people are here, and there is a lot of racism as well. Americans are not fond of people with foreign accents and will most often refuse to lend a helping hand, which is one of the things that scares me about bringing my wife here.

Also, as stated in the quote that American men look to marry foreign women, it's simply because almost all American women are not as educated, graceful, and cultured, as those women in the rest of the world.

I kind of agree with this post.. About the accent and why men marry foreign women.. It is because U.S women want or act so independent to the point that they think they don't need a man and most of them treat men like garbage.

SOMEONE has to stand up for us!!! This is like, the 2nd America bashing thread in two days that I've seen!!!!

Thank you, Thank you. :thumbs: I hate it when I see people in the immigration process who are trying to come to the US or bring a loved one to the US bash this country. Especially when they say, "it is better for the children" :wacko: Is it now?!! And the ones who say that countries in Europe or Asia or Australia have a "better this or that". They are not saying their own countries (mainly 2nd and 3rd world) are better than the US, they are saying that other (1st world) countries which are not their own home countries are better than the US. What a bunch of hypos. You are not coming here to be with your loved one, you are here because it is better here (for various reasons) than wherever it is you are from. Why lie. If I was your American born spouse and you said such things about my country, I would be pissed. The truth is you, the beneficiary, are probably dying to come see this great country. The other truth is, some of the petitioners on VJ, sought the US Citizenship just so that they can THEN bring their loved ones to the US.

I came to the US 14 years ago. I love the US just as much as I love my home country, and I spend time in both countries. I now have roots/family in both countries. I am grateful to be here. Like @ullnvrkno said, if you are so against/hate/dislike this country, please go back to your country or the country you think is better than the US. Why bother being here.

Totally agree - I wouldn't mind moving to El Salvador where my husband is from and is currently living, but there is no work, there are little to no luxuries like there are here in the US, it's really hot there but not very many people can afford air conditioning. My husband came to the US ~8 years ago for a better life, for more money and for more opportunities. He was caught by immigration and shipped back to El Sal last November. I've asked him several times why he'd want to come back to a country that sent him packing -- for the $, for the opportunities, for the level of health care and education.

I take it personally, though, when people attack Americans. We're not ALL pig-headed, uncouth, slur-throwing a-holes. People risk their LIVES coming here. Obviously there's something beautiful and alluring about this country if someone is willing to walk 48 hours through a desert to get here.

The guy who is bashing America and saying us American women are not "cultured and educated" is the exact reason many foreigners think Americans are "pig-headed." He's a perfect example. I cannot reiterate enough. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT HERE THEN EITHER MOVE OR DON'T COME HERE. And certainly, above all, don't call yourself American! It gives the rest of us a bad name. :angry:

20 Million illegal immigrants are a strong enough percentage and proof that many consider the US a place they will do whatever they can to live in. And those 20 million illegals are not just from Mexico, Cuba, Guatemala etc. A good percentage got on a plane and came to live in the US and refused to leave. 20 Million people is equivalent to the population of some countries. Some people swear their allegiance to this country during their US citizenship ceremony and then come and bash the same country here on VJ. :bonk:
