I believe Americans have a hugely inflated idea of how many other people want to come here. While it is a LOT in raw numbers it is nothing in percentage of worldwide population.

Yeah, our long-term goal (my fiance and I) is actually to move to Asia and later on to Europe. I visited the US, I was not overly impressed. I'm sure it is wonderful and being the birth home of my beloved, I will always accord America and Americans with respect as I expect him to respect my home country of Kenya. However, having lived in both Asia and Europe, if it were entirely up to me, we would be moving to Europe not the US. It's just that right now,the US is the most pragmatic choice. So yeah, OP, we are not all just dying to move to the US and to live and die there. As I said, it's a great place I'm sure but man, there are incredible places outside of the US and my personal bias is Europe, all you have to do is go to France or Italy to figure that out.

i had no dreams of moving to the US, especially now that it seems to be economically ill. even as my petition is in progress, i have fears of what kind of life i would have in the US. i am from the philippines and unemployed for the past year but i still manage to put food on the table for me and my daughter, one thing i may not be able to do in the US.there are other countries that offer better opportunities, but my fiance is american and loves his country so much and would not consider relocating, so no choice..

My fiance originally did not want to come to America. We discussed it and I told him I'm at least 10 years from retiring. I guess he didn't want tp wait that long. I do want to retire in Nigeria, but that is a long ways off. I will be living out my retirement with the man I love which is the most important thing, but I have to be sensible.

the same here, if not for my fiance I would be probably immigrating the other direction => New Zealand!

USA scares me, I traveled a bit and I didn't feel safe, I wouldn't walk on the street on my own like I do in Europe, if I find a job I will never get what I am getting at the moment... BUT I love my fiance and I will move wherever I have to! Originally he was to move over here but after a long discussion we decided me moving over would be the best option. He loves his job, we will be able to afford me not working for a while, he will be able to pay off his debt for a school he finished last year, he has a good health insurance which will cover us both etc. Me? I have no debts, I don't own anything here,I'm not mad about my job, sure I will miss my family but I will be visiting them once a year just like I do now... So yeah at the end I am the one leaving my life behind. I am sure I'll hear on a few occasions that I moved and married for a green card but I don't really care! Important is that we know the truth!

As for Americans, well my fiance is naturalized :)

Hi!

Just an intrigue question, will everyone in this world immigrate to USA? well looks like it, I guess will come the day that the wait will be like for ever to get this K1.

What are the other countrys in the rank for imigration? Do you guys know it? I just wondered since never expected so many ppl doing it.

Thank you

No, not everyone. Where did you get this idea? I am relocating to join my wife as it would be more disruptive to her situation compared to mine if she moved here. Australia is better than the US - economy, tolerance, equality, diversity, employment, work/life balance, security, etc. Europe is a close second contender, more sophisticated and refined.

Question for you - Are you moving to a country (USA) or relocating to join your loved one???

There are still quite a few people that do wish to come her, but yes incorrect to say everyone. Obviously the people who posted on here about things being so unsafe in the US, you also got the notion wrong. Some cities in the US are just as bad as cities in in other countries. Guns are just a little harder to obtain in the US for the ones abiding by the laws/processes to obtain them. The Philippines is poor and yes they can find a way to be happy even though they dont have much in their pocket. Many people are emigrating outside the US because the growth of jobs in other countries. I guess it erks me when I see that someone has to say something like "what do you mean by 'you people'?" We get it. Not everyone celebrates Christmas, but who really gives an eff if you hear a greeter say it as you walk into walmart or costco. There used to be freedoms in the US but whining and complaining about stupid stuff is what prompts slowly loosing those freedoms.

Health insurance sucks, paid vacations are non existant, ditto for maternity leaves, guns everywhere and super costly education...

That is a sweeping generalization which is not accurate.

May your visa journey be smooth and speedy.

I am from the Philippines but my family moved to Japan. I tried convincing my then fiance now husband to move to Japan but he didn't like it there. He also has to finish his IBEW apprenticeship before he can relocate so I moved here to be with him. It's more beneficial for us at this moment.

The OP is frustrated by how long the K1 process takes (as we all are) and I believe is simply expressing that in this thread. I can understand that it feels like the whole world is ahead of us in line. LOL

I lived in Australia for 19 months, 8 days and 3 hours. Didn't care for it much.

Same here.... I never ever had any intentions whatsoever to live permanently in the US. I had my friends, family and a perfect job in Mexico, why would I want to leave that? Oh yeah...I randomly happened to meet my now (american) husband! And as many others we decided to live here as would have been hard for my husband to find a good job there but its definitely in our plans to move back to Mexico at some point in our (older) lives :)
