Hello you all

Do you guys know what it takes so long?, What exactly do they do? or they just leave the paper sitting there for 5 months and take lake 3 minutes at the end to approve? Is it may be cause they want to help us for the possible fraude? like take time so we will give up in case is not serious?

I read that they do background check at first and then I dont know. Why does some case take so long? Who cares if there is 500 pages of skype, you dont have to read them all, if you got experience you can just do a quick reading.

Im just wondering and if anyone has something to share I will aprecciate it.

Thank you

Think of how many pieces of mail they get every day! I would assume tens of thousands of pieces.

So yes, probaby it sits in a filing cabinet for months and months until someone is available to process it.

Good luck

Yes, I created the picture by using the final scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark... in order to convey the concept.

Your file, my file and anyone else who has not yet received a NOA2 are all sitting in a box in the processing center, waiting to be worked.

No one is looking at it, no one is asking about it. It's just sitting there in a box. That's all. Eventually, the box with your petition in it will be worked and you'll be notified. Average waiting time for the Vermont Service Center is 5 months.

Time to relax, read VJ forums, learn more about the process and the next steps to be done after the NOA2 is received.

Patience, my friend... patience.

May your visa journey be smooth and speedy.

While it is a joke, it is based in reality. Your petition will take about 20 minutes to process when they get to it.

They have such a backlog that is takes months to get to each file. Then, the normal approval process is undertaken in 15 minutes.

Fraud is definitely a consideration.

I don't know the whole process, but the Immigration Dept's sole reason for being isn't to hurry up and process your K1 Visa. They have a responsibility to all people in the US to protect the borders. In order to do it, they probably do need time.

I'm frustrated by the 5-6 month wait, but if it makes our country safer then I can understand.

Here's an interesting read for all....

http://www.oig.dhs.gov/assets/Mgmt/OIG_12-24_Jan12.pdf

This review was conducted just this year, and explains the pressures of getting K1's processed vs. protecting the US borders from fraud and other threats.

That's classic isn't it? It should be in the VJ members guide or something. Something like "View this photo before posting"

really? background check for employment normally takes 1-3 days on the average depending how they can collect information from multiple sources. what does uscis use to speed that up?

Civil Service workers are over loaded, no matter how fast or efficient the pile never changes. Our K-1 was 7 months with one RFE due to our attorney. AOS 10 months after lots of calling letter writing. Patience grasshopper.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.
