Today was my interview in West Palm Beach :)

I was to get there at 11am. We got there a little before 11, we left our phones in the car so not sure how long we waited before we got called in.

We walked in, went through security, then I went up to the reception desk and asked where we go for interview. She took our interview notice letter and she told us to go into the waiting room and that someone would call us.

We waited for about 20 min and then a short latina lady came out and called my name. She introduced herself as Officer ....I said hi, she said goodmorning.

We walked ALL the way to the back of the building to her office, before we sat down the hubby and I both swore to tell the whole truth.

We sat down and she asked for our I.D's. The hubby and I have our parents addresses on our drivers license because we have not yet changed it to our new address together. I got nervous because she pointed that out. Then she said she'd start with the petition (I-130) She said his name, then she said ohh Jamel and Janae, I bet your kids are gonna be J-something. This made me feel a little more comfortable, I was a bit nervous.

Then she asked my husband my birthday and asked me his birthday. She went through the I-130 and checked everything with red pen. She kind of read out the things on the paper, not really asking us questions.

Then she said what do we have to show that our relationship is a bona-fide relationship. I told her the lease that we had in the package, she looked at that (the one i sent in), then she asked what else we had, We only had a paper that we got from the bank saying that both our names are on our checking and savings account. She asked if we didn't have an actual bank statement. This made me nervous again, but it was fine.

Then she asked what else we have, I told her I had pictures. We actually had our first picture we ever took together when we were in high school! She really liked that. Then she looked at a couple more pics and said ohh these pictures are around the same time, I told her that this picture was when I was 14, another when I was 16, another when I was 18 etc. Then she looked at our wedding pictures, she really liked the pictures of the people dancing, she said it looked like everyone was having a great time. She asked us where the venue was because she really liked the scenery outside. Its very beautiful there.

After that she said she loved ALL of our pics and wanted to keep them all. I told her they were copies so she could keep them if she wanted to, she said it was way too many to keep but she kept a majority of them.

She told me that we were making her job easy because we were pretty much the perfect case and told us about a couple earlier who brought in pretty much nothing to prove that it was a valid relationship.

Then she asked the yes and no questions on the I-485. she also looked at the clubs that I was involved in, most of them were college related, so she asked what I studied, I told her accounting. She liked that, she asked if I was going for my masters, I explained that I had applied and would start this Fall.

She was looking through the papers and saw that I had an I-94 that I just got last year and didn't expire until 2014, she was very impressed that I was in legal status all of my years here.

She asked me if I had gotten my employment authorization, I told her yes, she said she would have to take it, I also told her that i had a previous one and if she needed that as well, she said yes.

She explained that she would be granting me a 2 yr greencard today and that I need to file to remove the conditional status and when I could get my citizenship. She also said that we need to keep taking pictures from now until then!

My memory is not that great but i tried to say everything that happened. You can ask me questions if you'd like :)

Thanks to all the VJ members that helped me!! Hope your process and your experience is as great as mine was!
