Called uscis and as a feared my status is correct. The representative said that NYC its processing January filers right now.

Wonder what that means. The whole processes or just the interview.He was not able to answer my question

It possibly means there are still some January filers being processed - the more complicated cases, ones that need a second check etc. Looking back on the April and March threads here, a few going through NYC have already ended or are ending their process so it's certainly not the case that they've only just reached January.

NYC is frustratingly slow for sure, but it looks like May NYC filers are just entering the time to expect an interview letter.

Hi All,

I passed my interview today. I got 6 out of 6 questions. They're the following:

1) Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?

2) Who is the Commander-In-Chief of the military?

3) What are the two major political parties in the US?

4) What is the political party of the President now?

5) Name one state that borders Mexico?

6) Name three of the 13 original states.

PRAISE GOD!!! I'll be waiting for my Oath Taking Ceremony.

sorry to hear about your unpleasant experience. having divorced my husband after five years of marriage due to his infidelity, i expect to experience similar "grilling".

You will be fine since you're sorta prepared heh. I was not expecting it but in your case he cheated so there's not much to grill you on, hopefully. Good luck!

I also called for NYC and the told me the same: still processing for Jan. I asked what this does mean oath/interview. She told me this was interview scheduling date. I have been in line since Jun 26.

I think the processing for January means they've probably finished all the cases from December. If your case is unexceptional, meaning you have three/five years from GC, no convictions or significant absences, you'll probably get scheduled soon. I am working on the basis that my case is unexceptional, my NOA date is 5/17, so I'll probably get my interview letter a week after Rainbow007 who has a NOA date of 5/11/2012. I also anticipate that Olala will get his/her letter just before me, because while I filed a day earlier my NOA date (priority date) is a day later. Of course, while I think my case is unexceptional, USCIS might have a different view.

First of all, congratulations to those who already had their interviews and got approved!

One question: How long does it take from the biometrics appointment to the change of online status, and by this I mean being placed in line for an interview? Is online status reliable? I am a July filler but have been following other threads and noticed that some people get their interview letters pretty fast (10-14 days), while the usual period is 1 month. I am just really really curious (and apparently impatient) and would really love to know how does this work.
