Hey - Welcome to the brain-dead collection of NVC TeleOperators !!! They don't know anything about EP. And It Shows!

Hint Hint - there's a special, hidden queue for interview scheduling for Guangzhou and Cuidaded de Juarez. Ask when the final review is complete - you'll be scheduled within 3 to 5 days of that time tick.

[cough cough] a few days after 'final review complete' [cough cough]

Is case closed the same as 'final review complete'?

No, not at all. When NVC has a light load (less casefiles) usually the two things can occur on same day or within 24 hours of each other.

NVC is open now, please to call, inquire for 'final review complete'

I Post the NVC EP timeticks for Guangzhou now

Can someone please clarify something for me? Do the NVC operators have any way of knowing when a Immigrant Visa package arrives at NVC? As far as I know there is no way for me to track our package that was sent from Vietnam and so when I call the NVC they just tell me to wait 20 business days for processing. Well that's great, but I don't even know if the package has arrived yet, I'd like to know if it's sitting on someone's desk even. After I sent the AoS packet and called like two days after it arrived they told me it had already been approved which I wasn't expecting at all.

Thanks, and good luck to everyone.

Don't worry, be happy.

Thanks Darnell. I didn't understand the timeticks that you posted, but I didn't ask. My fault. I can still sign into the payment portal, so that is a bad sign. I just called NVC and they said the final review was completed 5/11, the same day as the case closing. Yeah, according to your prediction, tomorrow would align with last Friday, so hopefully tomorrow is my lucky day.

Here is my experience. Each time I call NVC, the operator told me NVC didn't receive my petition. Week ago, I sent an email to NVCResearch@state.gov with NOA2 scanned attached. I got a response today stating: NVC received my petition, no case # assigned yet. Then, I called NVC tonight, I got my NVC #.

So I suggest you email NVC in case it really bothers you.

when you paid for shipping, did you get ANY tracking #? At this stage, you should be using that tracking number with the shipping company. If you used EMS, for example, in Vietnam, you can find the package tracking info on usps.com after it arrives in the USA.

uhm - breaking news?

after case complete, NOW (since the payment portal update from last year) folk can still sign into the portal.

don't worry about that, it's not a bad thing.

So, cool, that you know when the final review was complete. IMO, you'll know about the interview sometime between Wednesday and Friday, this week.

I'm hoping by NOW you can understand more about the timeticks I've posted, as you've lived through 80 percent of them, so far. I'm hoping they be more familar to you, as of today. Yes? :D

Hang in there, man. Yers is coming. Don't forget that the NVC TeleOperators are brain-dead. I learned this ages past, and wrote about it over at http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Electronic_Processing#Speedbumps_on_OPTING_IN_and_Converting_from_Paper_to_Electronic Unforunately, that 'brain-dead' tag carries for anything about EP cases headed to Guangzhou. It sucks, they will never be trained about it.

Good Luck !

NVC operators can only see when packages have started being reviewed. They have no idea if it's in the building or not. So, your IV package might be there, but an operator won't know until someone starts the review on the package.

LOL, I missed the memo of being able to login to the new portal after case is complete.

I read the timeticks, I understand the process now (lol, even though I am at the last step).

Thanks for the encouraging words. I freaked out a little bit when I heard interview would be in a few months. I'll wait until the end of the week before going crazy, lol. Thanks again.

#######, called NVC hoping for interview date but operator told me that I missed the June interview dates and my interview date has still not been scheduled. Time to call DOS.. :(

Geez, called the DOS and they said it will be 1-2 months before interview is scheduled? I HOPE they don't know what they are talking about...this is frustrating. I thought it was supposed to be scheduled in a few days after case being closed.

FWIW, when I called the NVC asking if an interview had been scheduled, I was told the following month was full and given the second week of each month scheduling line. The very next day, I called them again and was told an interview had been scheduled! Hope something similar happens for you.
