In addition I claimed my wife on my taxes since I send her support and she has

an ITIN. Therefore I filed well within my legal right and filed jointly and

the check refund is in both our names. So to avoid any confusion I added them

for this benefit.

OK. You filed jointly, so it makes sense to add W-2 to avoid confusions. I did not claim my spouse in 2011 and I will amend my return once she is here in USA. My tax reporting situation is different than yours, so we can't compare Good luck!

BTW looking at your signature, did you get your NVC case number over the phone on 5/11? I just got my NOA2 email notification from USCIS on 5/11 and waiting to get file forwarded to NVC office.

My suggestions for refining your letter are in below:

Dear Sir/Madam;

Please find enclosed the I-864 Affidavit of Support and all required

documentation for my wife XXXXXXX XXXXXXX XXXXXXX, she is the beneficiary

of the immediate relative petition I-130 filed by me, a US Citizen at USCIS,

CSC. The above named is the intending immigrant to the United States.

The NVC will know that you filed the petition with USCIS, you need not mention that fact. Furthermore, do not use the abbreviation CSC on a written letter.

Enclosed:

Bar coded cover sheet

Completed and signed form I-864 Affidavit of Support

Letter of employment

IRS Tax Transcripts for years 2011, 2010 & 2009

Copies of W-2 forms

Copies of current pay stubs

If you are submitting transcripts, you don't need W2 forms.

Hmmm.... DS-260 question.

So as my Husband is Canadian and we're filing through Montreal, we were able to opt in to Electronic processing. I paid the IV bill on Friday, so it will probably show as paid in the next day or two, and then I submit the DS-260 right?

I read this on the NVC website, and now I'm a little confused.

"•If CEAC provides you with the option of completing a DS-260 (note it may be grayed-out because you have not paid your Immigrant Visa Fee), you are required to complete the DS-260.

•If CEAC provides you with online payment information only, you are NOT required to complete the DS-260."

What I'm confused about is that there is no spot on the CEAC when I look that shows the DS-260, and it's not there and greyed out (as it says on the first bullet).

Are we going to need to send a DS-230 to the NVC even though we did Electronic processing?

Quick question. I've paid both fees on friday and today my bank posted ACH Processing for both payment. NVC show "In Process". I've printed both cover sheet on friday when i made payment. Should i wait payment to appear as "Paid" or can i send it now since i've both cover sheets.

It would be better if you wait for the payment to show " Paid" and ensure that the money has been withdrawn from your bank

Its best to wait but in my opinion if you see it coming out the bank, then its good to go. What you could do is mail it priority the one that takes 2 days, that way it will have enough time to reflect paid, but i'm sure it will reflect paid by later today. Go with your gut feeling. I did

And if you send it early you might get a case complete by midweek.

Im trying to see if im strong enuff to hold out until Wednesday then to call NVC, but i know the moment i see someone get a Case completes that phone will be in my hand and i wont realise it till someone on the other line ask for my case number lollll. its like sleep calling hahhaha.

I'm here, hubby went home on Saturday. Just waiting for interview as well. i am gathering my evidence and that's all . Nervous, i need to practice as i totally suck @ all kinds of interview. I get sick just thinking about it.

Remember, electronic processing is completely DIFFERENT from online forms.

Electronic processing = sending packages by email

Online forms = completing the DS-261 and DS-260 online

As a Canadian, it's REQUIRED to do online forms. Please refer to the first post in this thread as there's a link to the online forms portal (it's separate from the payment portal). And the DS-260 only becomes available to complete after the IV bill has been paid and reflects so in the payment portal.

No, you do not send the DS-230 as you're completing the online version.

NVC won't be able to tell you. But if you can get a hold of the embassy, then they can as well. But DOS is usually the easier (and sometimes cheaper) option of calling to find out.

I always recommend waiting until the bill actually shows as PAID on the payment portal. But it's up to you.

Please, do NOT wait until Wednesday to call! You should be calling every day to ask for updates! Get excited when you call too! Imagine you'll be told over the phone that your case is complete!! You should be dancing with excitement before you call!

Hi all...I know in the past I have read when people get case complete at the NVC they can no longer log into the portal for the NVC. We got case complete last Wednesday but I can still log into the portal. Is this because our case is electronic and our case is forwarded to the embassy electronically?? When i called the NVC last week to find out when out interview is they said it could be a few weeks before it gets scheduled ..should I keep calling them anyway to see if they have scheduled it?
