this 'accepting it' wording is very ambiguous and useless. You need to find out when it was added to the casefile.

Hmm. I thought that they "accepted" it (as in opposite of rejected) because my husband called in relation to the rejection of her DS-3032 which was sent using my e-mail address. But I don't really know the exact conversation that took place, so you might be right that the operator might have simply meant "accepted" as in "yes we have it here already."

Anyway, the last operator he talked to said that our daughter's case will be updated soon (with the accepted choice of agent) and we should be getting an invoice in 3-5 days. Hopefully, we'll have it on Monday already.

have the uscitizen petitioner call in and ask what's going on.

in a perfect world, the two casefiles are joined up at NVC. Without that happening, things are off with timing.

If the two casefiles are INDEED not joined up, they need to be. have yer USCitizen Spouse ASK at NVC (via a telephone call) that the two casefiles be joined up. If the tele-operator seems confused, ask for a supervisor.

Does the one AOS fee we've had to pay (instead of two) mean that our cases our joined up? When I got our case numbers, I asked the operator to have our files processed together so we could get the same interview date in the end. But now, my daughter's is a bit behind because they didn't accept the DS-3032 that I sent on her behalf. (I don't really get why it would have been rejected - I was very specific that I was the mother acting in behalf of a minor child.)

Does the one AOS fee we've had to pay (instead of two) mean that our cases our joined up?

No, not at all. every person has at least one case @NVC, so it's one fee of 88 bucks.

'The visual' you seek is IN the online payment portal, though. Once the casefiles are joined up, you'll see something referenced, 'one in the other'.

Good Luck !

Why are you adding copies of W-2 forms? I don't see it as a required document if you are adding IRS Transcripts and making well above poverty guidelines.

How many months of pay stubs are you adding? And how many months pay stub NVC requires?

I just got my NOA2 and working on getting all my NVC documents ready.

Since pay stubs are optional, you can send however many you want.

For us, we sent 7 months worth. Why this number? My husband had started a new job in June 2010, and when we got to NVC in February 2011, we wanted to send all the pay stubs my husband had received at his new job. Looking back, it was an overkill; we could have just sent the last one in December (showing year to date) and then the two from January. But oh well! laughing.gif

Thanks that answers my question about paystubs. I do get hardcopy of my all pay stubs from my employer and also print from HR database at anytime. So I will probably print all pay stubs from 1/1/2012 till the date and I think NVC should satisfy with 5 months of pay stub.

What about copies of W-2 forms? Why do we need to send those?

If your pay stubs show a 'year-to-date' or YTD amount, you can just send the latest one, and highlight that YTD amount. That's what I would have done, looking back.

Copies of W2s are sent with tax transcripts only if taxes were filed jointly with someone and you need to show individual income. If you filed alone, then W2s aren't needed with tax transcripts. Since my husband filed alone for his taxes, we just sent tax transcripts.

Hey Smart84,

I do earn well above the poverty guidelines, but I would rather submit them and not need them

than need them and not have submitted them, just a sheet of paper and I am thinking ahead of

the person that may not know they are not required when submitting transcripts, so he has them

in the packet in the event he interprets that I do.

I will send in every direct deposit stub from the beginning of the year up to now. How many

they require I do not know, ask Saylin our Guru here.

I will err on the side of caution and submit all that I have and rest assured I did my best.

I filled my last 3 years taxes with 2 dependents (and none of these 2 dependents had any income in 3 years). So I think I should just only send transcripts, and don't want to create any confusions in NVC officer's mind by adding documents which are not mandatory. What's your thought on this?

hmmm the reason why I am hesitant to put copies of all W-2 forms is because in last 3 years I had a good chunk of income coming from stocks, mutual funds, ESPP transactions and interests. So adding just my W-2 forms will not match with gross income reported in return, and to match gross income I need to add all other income documents (e.g. 1099).

Nope, if you filed single, then no W2s are needed. Dependents don't matter as their income isn't being contributed to the total/gross income.

In addition I claimed my wife on my taxes since I send her support and she has

an ITIN. Therefore I filed well within my legal right and filed jointly and

the check refund is in both our names. So to avoid any confusion I added them

for this benefit.

Was it not needed, maybe not, I am certain I will not get a checklist for it.......?

Yes, at least not for not attaching W-2's.

Have a good one and thanks Saylin.
