Hi

I wanted to share our great week!

NVC received our IV package on May 4th.

Monday - I called to get an update. NVC told us to wait 20 days, as usual.

Tuesday - NVC told us CASE COMPLETE (that was a fast 20 days! LOL) They also told us that we might have a chance of getting a June interview if we got to the front of the "line" this week. Otherwise, we would have to wait for a July interview date. :(

I decided to give the NVC a break and didn't call until today...

Friday - I called in the morning and NVC said no interview date. He had no idea when we would get one. He did say our file had been sent to London, which was curious to me because I thought it only gets sent after the interview is scheduled.

Later in the day, I decided to try the DOS rather than the NVC. I figured they'd had all day to schedule our interview  Surprise, surprise....they told me we had an interview date on June 14th!! YEA!!!!!!!!!!! They also asked if I had called earlier in the day....I guess they share a database with NVC!

We got the email confirmation shortly after this.

So there it is; a great week and the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter. Now it's my hubby's turn...he has to go for medical and interview.

Just one question - I see some people track when their file leaves the NVC and when the Embassy gets it. Is there a reason for this other than to keep following your file and making sure the file is there before the interview?

Good luck to everybody still waiting for "something".

I know we aren't done yet, but thanks to this forum (especially Saylin!!! ) we got through this stage without a hitch - all the experiences and ideas really helped us!

Cheers and have a great weekend, Lori

Sorry if this was too long and rambling.....just wanted to share....

My husband had to get 2 police clearance certs. One from Oman and one from Jordan. the one from Oman has a different spelling than all the other documents, birth, marriage, passport ect. But it does have his picture and resident number on it, matching his id from Oman. from what I understand in Arabic it depends on who translates the documents because the alphabet is different and based more on pronunciation and the way it sounds. My name in arabic is translated in a different spelling than it is in english. I have no idea how it will play out, but we are hoping for the best...we cant have the spelling in Oman changed because as a child it was the way it was translated when he became a resident there even though it doesnt match the spelling on his birth certificate...who knows wacko.gif

Yes, I do know arabic does not translate perfectly to english...and the spelling is up to whoever does the translating...I am just worried....all papers have one spelling except the passport. Your interview is coming up soon....good luck...and let me know what happens with it....

Hello to all and glad to see such positive results coming out of NVC today.

Received my NVC, IIN and BIN case numbers at about 9:30 am.

Gave the operator my wife's and my email addresses and sent in the DS-3032 email.

No auto response though.

Tried to pay the AOS, but the CEAC payment portal shows under "Payment Status" as "Not Invoiced".

When do you think I will be able to pay it?

It seems as if others were able to pay theirs as soon as they received the IINs.

Ready to express mail this package and get it under way.

On page 5 of the I-864 AOS form where if you are using assets to add to your income, if I am not using

this and it says "You are not required to complete this part. Skip to part 8", should I leave it blank

or put in N/A in the spaces?

I thought I read somewhere not to leave anything blank.

I wish you all the best and may all have a great weekend.

Grats on getting your case number! kicking.gif

Since you JUST got the case number today, it'll still be a few days before the AOS is invoiced, so sometime next week. There has been no one that I know of that has gotten the AOS invoiced the same day as the case number was assigned.

I think now that you have a case number, it's time to read the guides again as well as the FAQ one more time. Read posts 1 and 2 for that.

OK i had case complete at the NVC a few days ago and I am dying to find out when hubby's interview will be. Should I call to ask when it is or wait? I am not good at this patience is a virtue thing...blush.gifblush.gif

I started calling for an interview date the day after my case complete. What are you waiting for? Call!

Hi

Wow, grats on the amazing week for you! kicking.gif

No reason besides what you state for tracking your case. Just to feel like you're doing something.

There's still an hour and a half to go before NVC closes!

We called for the 3rd time today. And guess what, we got an incompetent operator. Here's what we were told:

1. It's okay to have only ONE choice of agent for both our cases, and since mine has been accepted, hers was automatically accepted too.

2. We have to send in our AOS packages before the IV fee can be invoiced. Well, if that was the case, how come mine was invoiced already? We didn't send out any AOS package yet.

This is giving me a headache..

Husband called NVC AGAIN, for the 4th time today. That's gotta be a record. LOL

Anyway, we got better information now. They said that our daughter's choice of agent has just been processed, and to wait 3-5 days to get the IV fee invoice.

Oh well, a long weekend ahead. :(

Yes, I do know arabic does not translate perfectly to english...and the spelling is up to whoever does the translating...I am just worried....all papers have one spelling except the passport. Your interview is coming up soon....good luck...and let me know what happens with it....

Still not scheduled for the interview. NVC still gives me a dead end when I inquire as to when it will be scheduled. I hate the NVC with a passion, they have made so many mistakes on our case since day one. I will be so glad when it is forwarded to the consulate. Seems to me since everything in Amman has to be electronically that it would make the process move faster. Seems people at the NVC can't read email as quickly as they can read snail mail. Perhaps our husbands will both have their interview at the same time. I am going to Amman for it, will make me feel better if I am there by his side. Luckily I am able to go, I know it isn't easy for most to be able to do so.

Yes, I do know arabic does not translate perfectly to english...and the spelling is up to whoever does the translating...I am just worried....all papers have one spelling except the passport. Your interview is coming up soon....good luck...and let me know what happens with it....

Maybe the best route would be for your hubby to get his passport changed. But he is in Syria so I know that is easier said than done. It's a very dangerous place to be right now and I have ni idea what the process in Syria is. I know in Jordan to renew a passport literally takes an hour and a half. You go to the civil service dept, give them your old passport, ID and birth certificate and go back in 90 minutes to pick it up.

I was under the impression from people who have posted here in the past that once I received case closed at the NVC that I would no longer be able to sign into the DOS portal. I received email confirmation on Wednesday that our case has been closed, and i called to confirm the email. They said it is definitely closed.. I can still log into the portal. Is this because our case is electronic? I'm perplexed. blink.gif

This is giving me a headache..

wow.gif What an incompetent operator!
