Just called NVC.. the representative said the DS-3032 was accepted today so I should get my IV payment in about 7 days. Also my AOS package says delivered on the USPS website. Good updates! I am happy....

Hopefully your IV bill is faster. It usually is ;)

And you should hear early next week about your AOS package yes.gif

Guys, just wanted to share my happiness with all of you. Picked up my passport/visa as well as the sealed envelope. Flying on the 24th.

I wish you all good luck in the remaining part of your journey, and may you all get approvals soon. God bless!

Yay, grats! Less than 2 weeks from now! kicking.gif

My IV fee bill is already posted. None yet for my daughter's..

Grats on the progress. Hope your daughter's follows quickly.

Does anyone know how NVC reviews paperwork sent? Do they review ATTN:DR first or ATTN: CMOS? Will Attn DR get reviewed faster since they may be just missing something from original paperwork and just need a review to see if they have everything or is there no such order?

Unfortunately, this is something I don't know :(

Case Completed.

Waiting for interview date.

[...]

Grats on the case complete yesterday! kicking.gif

And wow.gif you got through NVC in just 13 days!! kicking.gif Good job good.gif

On the DS-230 Form, if you mark "Yes" for the following question: "Do you want the Social Security Administration to assign you a SSN and issue a card?"

Then, should you even bother asking the CBP Officer at POE if your SSN card will be sent in the mail? Do you still have to go to a SSA Office to request the SSN? or Do you just "count on it" that I will make it to your mailbox without having to do anything else?

:help:

Thanks!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!! Happy for you! OK, a little jealous too, cuz we're the same embassy and you got an earlier date than I did ohmy.gif But my happiness for you outweighs that, because God knows what he's doing! Have a great interview and go see your hubby off to his deployment! Yay!!!kicking.gif

June 21st is the week after me, where will you be doing the medical??

I really hope this process speeds up for you so you can have hubby safely snuggled with you... out of that situation. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Such great advice Darnelle... as usual! I'll be taking your instructions with me to my medical. Thanks!!!

Congrats on the end of this phase of your journey! Blessings!

Even if you check off yes on that question, it does NOT guarantee you'll get the SSN in the mail.

This is what happened to me. I checked off yes on that question and waited. No SSN arrived. I waited the suggested 3 weeks from POE, and after nothing in the mail, I went to the local SSA office to apply. After about 10 minutes or so answering questions, my application was filed. Then, 10 days later, I received my SSN in the mail.

shot records is fun. Since one is getting shots, it makes sense to have a secondary record made.

The PRIMARY record goes into the medical sealed file (which you never, ever see again)

and

now one has another shot record, exactly like the first one, except it's:

1. accessible

2. usable

3. easy to show to others

if'n one has a job with children, for example, or in the medical profession, one has to show a shot record, yearly.

usually, a secondary shot record is free. saves a hassle later...

[well, i got the shots in haiti, but all the record is sealed, why don't you believe me?]

In China one is charged 10 to 20 RMB (1.8 to 3.5 usd) for the secondary record.

Perhaps I'm using improper language? when I write 'secondary record' I really mean 'an official original that one can carry'

Darnell is that the vaccination record i get from my family doc or its complety differerent and i have ask for secondary one when i go for medical?

Did you check off yes or no on that question on the form?

We marked "YES" but again and I'm trying to learn from other people's experiences (like in your case), to avoid trusting something that may not neccesarilly happen. Going back to my original question, what do you recommend?

[....]

No, they will NOT keep your original vaccination record. They do NOT do that. They return it back to you. Do not stress about this.

Alright, if you marked yes, then I don't recommend you go. Wait the 3 weeks. If you go the day after POE for example, two scenarios can happen: you won't be in the system yet so they won't be able to give you one or you'll be allowed, but you run the chance then of getting two SSNs, which will cause problems. Just wait the 3 weeks out. Who knows, you might even get it in the mail!

Sorry if I'm double posting but someone suggested I ask here:

We are in the last stages of NVC, just paid the IV fee today, and hopefully will then be able to email out the DS-260 document packets Monday/Tuesday and should hope to have an interview scheduled by the end of May.

How early can my spouse schedule the Medical Exam? We're expecting the interview to probably be scheduled sometime in July, however my wife has a really busy late June schedule, and so she wanted to know if she can schedule the medical now in early June. Is it ok if her medical is 4-6 weeks (estimating here) before the Interview date?
