OK, I woke up today late, long story, I lost my job on Friday, Things are not going well with the wife either, life seems to be at its lowest point right now. But today I guess there was some positivity. I got an email back after my NVC inquiry. They sent me the AOS Invoice and the choice of agent form. I was happy to finally receive my NVC case number. I first sent the opt in email for the electronic processing. Next I paid the AOS fee. I then printed out my AOS Document coversheet and was now going to email my AOS package. But I remember I should wait for the opt in email to be accepted first? I did receive the auto response. I then went to the forms portal and filled out the Choice of Agent form. What is the next step, wait for EP to be accepted? Everything is happening at once!

Wowww! I am happy for you!

Last night I was thinking of you. I was gonna shoot you a PM if you hadn't popped up sometime today.

Damn, losing your job, having a rough go right now, that really really really sucks. I'm sorry.

Try sending your opt-in email again. since you have been invoiced, the 'switch' is on and it should be accepted quickly. Once you have the acceptance shoot off the AOS package.

Now that the choice of agent form is filled out you'll get the IV fee invoiced soon.

You'll be fine! Drink some mint tea, lay in bed and at the very least relax. You're still resting if you're not getting any sleep.

OMG, I was at lunch and I got an email notification that your timeline has been updated. I saw ur progress and got so excited for you and I wanted to respond sooner but was on my phone, but congrats!!! It's been a long time coming for u. I'm sorry to hear about the problems with ur wife and the loss of the job. Hopefully things are changing for the better for you. I'll keep you in my prayers...

Meno is ur country one of those that gets EP? looking at you IV sent date to you Case complete date. WOW Speedy.

ohhh ps: did you see MCM got his stuff at NVC?

My country is NOT one eligible for EP. and yes!!! i was just writing MCM a message. lol, i got so excited when the message came through on my phone during lunch

Why JFK, if i may ask

JFK has direct flights to/from Egypt using EgyptAir. That's how I usually fly when I go to Egypt so I was just assuming we'd do the same for him.

Thanks guys. I hope it is smooth journey from here. I just hope that this gets done with. I really don't want to write a post in the effects of major family changes forum. Please pray for me.

Praying for you... (F)

Before sending the packages,

1- NVC has to receive your case from USCIS

2- You will need to wait for almost 20 business days to be assigned a case number in other for NVC to start processing with( IV and AOS ) their fee must be invoiced and paid on the Portal before mailing out to NVC. Are your AOS and IV documents ready?

I'm preparing it, but I wanted to do the AOS first, cos I need my new passport yet and its gonna get ready just next month.

I thought the case number would be faster than 20 days, a friend of mine told me to call already I got approved 1 week ago.

I just wanted to know if its better to send together or separately =(

I know I wont do it right now, but dont know if I get the AOS docs first, if I take care of my PC first or do both at same time

Any advice?

I'm so sorry about your job and that things with your wife are not going well. This process is stressful and losing your job doesn't help. I hope that now that things are finally moving with your case, you and your wife will get back on a positive track. You've been waiting for a long time for NVC to even receive your case, so congratulations on that finally being resolved! Hang in there and focus on the positive movement with NVC, which brings you and your wife closer to being together.

If you have your AOS package ready to go, I would e-mail it now. Did you get the confirmation e-mail that your Optin for EP has been accepted? I had to send mine twice and the second time, the confirmation e-mail stating that "This case is now enrolled in the Electronic Processing Program." was received less than an hour after. Once your DS-261 is confirmed, then the wait starts for the IV bill to be invoiced. Hopefully it won't take very long.

Good luck with everything and please keep us updated on your progress.

I agree with everything Kerry said. I'm so sorry to hear about your job and the stresses with your relationship! Her advice is awesome though...and it's really good you've got some forward movement now. I really hope this helps things for you!

Wowww! I am happy for you!

Thanks a lot for your support. I really need it right now. At least this process will keep me busy.

Just to clarify, the time to email the AOS package is once the invoice shows as paid, correct?

Congratulations on getting a case number so fast!! :star:

You can wait until you've paid both invoices and send both packages together, since you are waiting on documents, in this case a new passport, and it saves on postage.

Waiting on both invoices to be paid will buy you some time to get your passport back. And it is recommended to not send anything in until the invoices are paid, and show as paid on the payment portal.

After you pay the first invoice you'll get a checklist to send the documents in for that particular one. Don't panic, just send them when you have the documents ready to go!

Thanks a lot for your support. I really need it right now. At least this process will keep me busy.

Just to clarify, the time to email the AOS package is once the invoice shows as paid, correct?

Yes, wait until it shows paid. Just in case something goes wonky and the payment is rejected.

What documents you are bringing with you for the medical?Wanna share? Is it true when you go for medical they check your female part? Why?

I had a female doctor for my medical and she explained that I would have to remove my lower clothing so she could look and i could have a gown if I wanted. After all the questions, I laid down on the couch, dropped my jeans and underwear she looked and that was it. (She was standing, just a quick look.) I'd be surprised if a male doctor did that without a female in the room but as it is just a quick look maybe.

YUP!!! For my AOS, they took the money out my account 6 days before it ever showed up as paid on the portal. So for the IV payment, I was going to send out the packet as soon as the fee cleared from my account, but luckily it all happened at the same time.

Yea if there would be any guy for this i would ran from there as fast as i can.But good news is it will be she :) .Even though i don't like that but what to do?

There is nothing else to do - if you want the visa, the doctor (or a female nurse, which you should be able to ask for) has to peek. It's part of the medical, and they won't overlook it.

USCIS (192 days, August 24 2011 to March 2 2012. No RFE's).
NVC (30 days, March 12 to April 11. Case expedited due to NVC errors).

Montreal US Consulate, awaiting interview date (14 days, April 12 to April 26).

05/09/2012 - medical in Toronto - passed!
05/22/2012 - interview - passed!
05/25/2012 - visa in hand!!! biggrin.png

"RFE" for page 3 of application received, date March 27, 2014. Package re-submitted with all papers re-attached.

04/07/2014 - NOA1 Date

05/07/2014 - Biometrics in Charlotte, NC

11/05/2014 - APPROVED! Citizenship in 5 months!

It's not optional, and I know being Muslim you have an issue with it. All it is a quick peek to verify you are indeed a woman as you claim to be. There's no touching involved.

And a male doctor would NEVER check out your lady bits with out a female nurse present and would NEVER say having the female nurse look in his place isn't an option. It's asking for him to have his boy bits sued off.
