Same here.

Approved on April 5th and still no case number after more than a month. I think after having filed in August, this process of ours is going to take two years. It's becoming exhausting.

I just called the NVC and asked about my DS-3032 and my name being wrong on their file and the operator said not worry about any of it, since the Helsinki Embassy has accepted our expedite request and the case will be transferred to Finland in a few days. (!!!! #######!) Awesome, yes, but I'm also a bit confused, it seems we are skipping the NVC stage altogether?? We have already paid the AOS fee, but when do we pay the IV fee then? I've never heard of this happening, so any thoughts? Will all our i-864 and ds-230 documents be processed thru the embassy in a similar way as they would be by the NVC or what? Thanks guys

Thanks! AOS fee is "in process" now. But I'd like to clarify some points.

1. We only pay once for both mine and my daughter's AOS fee, right? But we have separate barcoded cover pages?

2. We send in a complete package for each of us - petitioner's i-864(w) and supporting docs, and co-sponsor's i-864 and supporting docs?

3. My husband should fill out an i-864W for our daughter, right? She's his biological child but my husband isn't qualified to pass on citizenship.

Just want to be 100x sure..

1 fee, 1 package. You put both AOS packages together in the envelope and send them.

2. if she is not eligible for citizenship when she comes, then she has to have a regular I-864 also.

LOL...that's sort of what happened to me You will pay the IV fee at the interview, when they're taking in your documents. If you've submitted your I-864 already, just bring your copy to the interview. You'll also submit the IV documents and anything else they need when you're at the interview. The embassy will process everything.

Haha, thanks! I'm getting pretty stoked now that it's all sinking in We haven't sent in any forms, since my husband is deployed (which is why we got the expedite), and can't send them until he is back... So the expedite won't be as useful as it could be, but definitely speeds things up once he is back

Yay! AOS fee invoiced.

Congrats! That's great! We had to wait for a few days after the AOS bill was invoiced for the bill to be payable. We're now waiting for them to release the IV bill and hopefully that will happen today. They've had my DS-261 since April 26.

This is what contents my interview letter regarding my documents

* Document Status Description

A = Applicant must acquire this document and present it at the time of the interview.

C = Direct inquiries to your consulate / embassy

D = Certified document received

F = This form is not necessary for this application.

I = The required form is incomplete. Please ensure that a complete form is presented at

the interview.

O = The original document has been received and accepted as meeting post

requirements.

P = The police certificate must be requested by the applicant. If you have already

applied for this document, no further action is required. The issuing police authority

will send the police record directly to the appropriate US Embassy to have on hand

at the time of the interview.

R = The electronic DS-260 form has been submitted and reviewed.

S = Scanned document received. The original document must be presented at the time

of the interview.

T = An acceptable document has been received, but a translation is required as the

submitted document is not in English or the official language of the processing post.

The applicant must present a certified translation at the time of the interview.

U = The applicant has informed the NVC that the required document is unavailable.

X = The required document is unobtainable for this country per the Foreign Affairs

Manual.

Y = The required document has been received.

$ = Payment received.

That's for sure! The letters the embassy sends you will also be helpful, and some embassies are more responsive than others so you can always try contacting them if you're absolutely stuck!

That's for sure! The letters the embassy sends you will also be helpful, and some embassies are more responsive than others so you can always try contacting them if you're absolutely stuck!

Yeah, the Finnish embassy has been really helpful in the past. I'm so happy I get to deal with them, the NVC is such a hassle trying to get a hold of people. Glad Finland is so small, the embassy usually replies within hours since they probably don't even have many people asking for advice What an awesome day!

Yeah, I know it's not a HUGE deal sending multiple copies, but it clogs up their email servers unnecessarily.
