Oh no, sorry to hear this happened to you too! Can I just send it over email, or do I need to send it via snail mail? Cuz they just sent the form to me using the NVCInquiry -email address. I need to get on this first thing tomorrow. If I knew how, I'd add here one of those emoticons where they bang their head on a wall or something :D Thanks for your advice!

Oh yes - that was the big part of what happened to me, but because no one could tell me what they needed I was able to get an expedite due to their error. :bonk: I know your main documents need to go via snail mail or courier - but in this case, considering they emailed you - I'd email them your passport copy and note. That way it will be faster (hopefully), or at the very least they can tell you what they'd rather you did to fix this...

And no problem :) Hope it works out fast!

Yay! I didn't book any ticket yet but im gonna book on Monday.are you guys taking any rental car when you are at Montreal? We book for a rental car $45 for a day .

Unless your planning to go out of Montreal, you won't need a car.

I'm laughing so hard I about pee'd myself!

Mr. Sheeshka got a phone call, it was from Bell wanting him to switch from Telus for his cell phone service. He explains he's moving out of the country.

"oh so your moving somewhere else in Alberta"

"no, I'm moving out of the country"

"oh like New Brunswick or something"

"No, as in out of Canada, like to the United States kind of moving out of the country"

She then hung up on him.

Love it.

Hello fellow VJ members,

I have a couple of questions that I want resolved in my mind.

Is it better to wait after emailing the DS-3032 and paying the AOS fee

for the IV bill to be generated and mail the I-864 AOS and DS-230 packets

together, or is it better to mail the I-864 AOS after paying that fee and

await the IV fee, pay it then send in the DS-230.......?

Separately, or together.......what is the advice on this...?

I hear they both have their pros and cons.

Also I asked the operator about sending in additional financial comingling

evidences for our file to show the Consulate we have a joint tax refund, checking and savings accounts.

She said it would not be a problem, what advice can be given about this.......?

I also have my tax transcripts for 2011, 2010 & 2009. Do I also need to send in my W-2s

with this, and can they be common copies of my W-2s.......?

I have everything else ready that is required for the I-864 packet.

What is anyone's advice that has completed this step thus far??

Thanks all.

About sending packages together or separately, it's completely up to you. Some people send them separately, some don't. The pro about sending them together is that you're only paying for postage once, and there's less chance one of the packages will get lost as they're together. The con is that you might be "wasting time" on sending out the AOS package pronto for NVC to review it. If nothing's wrong with the AOS package, then you wouldn't have wasted time as NVC still needs to review the IV package. But if a checklist is issued for something wrong or missing, then you'll have saved some time compared to sending the packages together. Hope you understand what I'm saying there.

If it were up to me, and I was in your position, I would send the AOS package asap once you can. But this is just my opinion on the subject matter.

For the transcripts, if you filed alone and don't need to show your own income, then W2s aren't needed. If you filed jointly and need to show your own income from the total income on the transcripts, then copies of the W2 are fine.

Depending where your hotel is, you can just walk. Or pay a few dollars for a bus. It'd be much cheaper to use public transportation. And I mean MUCH cheaper. Parking fees are outrageous in Montreal.

According to Google Maps, we can walk to the consulate in 8 minutes, or ride the Metro and take six lol. I think we'll just walk.
