Which form do I submit - Form I-864 or I-864EZ? I qualify for the I-864EZ, but haven't seen anyone submit that one.

Thanks,

GS

If you qualify for the I-864EZ, then I highly suggest you do that over the I-864 as it's much shorter (so less chance to screw up :P ). I filled out the I-864EZ, as have many others.

Hope someone can help. I just called NVC; they said they received my case from USCIS on 28th. I ask for the case number. She said it's not entered into system yet so she can't give me the case number. I asked her can I email you the ds 3032, she said not yet, I have to wait till they enter it into the system. I though they will assign case number as soon as they scan it then in couple weeks they will enter the case manually into the system to generate IV & AOS. Please advice is there anything I can do to avoid delays. Thanks in advance for your help!

It's currently taking 4+ weeks from NOA2 to get a case number assigned. Until then, you CANNOT send NVC any forms as they are NOT ready for any kind of intake from you.

Is your AOS and IV packages ready to go? If not, use the time now while you're waiting.

Keep calling NVC every day and inquiring if your case number has been assigned.

Also, please read post 1 and 2. Click on the links and read. Study the FAQ.

Case complete !!!! We are through !!!!

Grats!! kicking.gifkicking.gif

I've never seen that before and didn't use my USCIS receipt number in any of my correspondence with NVC. Interesting... I also followed Saylin's example of her cover letter for both the I-864 and the IV packages. Neither included the USCIS receipt number. For me, when in doubt, follow Saylin's example! :D

:D :D :D

HI All,

I just wanted to ask you all a question. My hubby's interview is Monday and I'm just sending him all the docs he's gonna need for the interview. I have his interview letter from NVC, photos, chat/email/phone logs, and 2011 tax transcript. In addition, he will bring with him his passport, medical results, and his passport photos. Are we missing anything? I'm just re-reading the interview letter and on the fifth page, it says:

'Please note that even though the applicant may have provided the NVC with a copy of a document, the applicant is still required to bring the original document to the visa interview."

Does this mean to bring in another set of original docs to the interview?!! What have you all done and/or recommend?

Doesn't look like you're missing anything. Not the general stuff anyways. I don't know if there's anything country specific, like courier service.

And no, you can't bring another set of originals as there's only one set of originals. Hence the name ORIGINAL. And re-read that statement you posted. You didn't send copies, you sent originals already. The statement you quoted is directed towards those doing EP as they only receive copies of certificates.

I just received the checklist for our DS-230 part 1. Is this a false one?

Also, my husband received a checklist for our daughter's I-864W:

Part 3 Concluding Provision

[x] The intending immigrant has not correctly filled out his/her own name in the blank, "I, _[daughter's name]__________________________________ certify…".

But my husband swears he filled it out that way. He's on queue at NVC now.

Wasn't your AOS accepted though? blink.gif

And he swears he put in our daughter's name on that space. Anyway, my husband can't send off a new I-864W until Saturday, so more more more waiting.. =(

I thought so too. That's what the operator said. Maybe she was too excited about Memorial Day weekend that she overlooked it. =(

My husband made copies of everything in our AOS packages EXCEPT FOR the 864 and 864W. He forgot to scan them after signing. =(

The bar-coded cover sheet is ALWAYS the first page. Cover letter is second, right below it.

Yes, he did. The operator didn't have access to the actual form, only the result of the review.

I asked for scans of everything he sent so I can bring them to the interview. But yeah, he left that part out. Now, I told him to bring the checklist package with him tomorrow everywhere he goes, so in case he has extra time, he can send it in ASAP.

By the way, do we print out and send the actual checklist? Or only the new barcoded cover page?

Ok, thanks for clarifying... i sent them a photocopy of everything in the DS 230 packet as well and our interview letter showed our docs list to be completed so I only have an updated PCC to show, otherwise, just the above docs... guess I'm a little nervous about the interview as well... I spent a considerable part of the day gathering the chat/email/phone logs and pictures of us with the families with little captions as well, so it feels like a little story of our life thus far... that compilation took alot longer than i expected, but i wanna get it right the first time around... just so wracked with nerves about the interview  i think all that i mentioned above should be sufficient. I wasnt planning on bringing in copies of the forms i already submitted throughout, what do u think? and as far as i can understand, in cairo, ur required to pay an 88 LE DHL fee and get fingerprinted then interviewed, nothing more... i'm rereading all reviews from past 2 years now...

He's on the road most of the day because of his work.

On our new 864W, the NVC operator told my husband to sign for our daughter (as in write her whole name in cursive), AND his own signature next to it. The first signature seems pointless to me, as it's still my husband who's signing it, but I told him to follow the NVC operator anyway.
