Hey everyone. Joining the thread because after days and days of calling, NVC finally has received our case. No case number yet, so after the Memorial Day holiday will go back to my favorite hobby - calling them every day! Best of luck to you all for a quick process.

Yeah, if you didn't fill in those three lines, you'll most likely get a checklist.

You could send it in with your divorce decree. Just mention in a cover letter why you're sending it in (you realised an error in your submitted I-864 and want to send in a corrected one now).

Husband's POE is tomorrow through Newark, NJ! YAY!!!! Hope it all goes smoothly...

CONGRATULATIONS! Yayyyy!!!

Visa in hand...they REALLY don't want you to open the yellow envelope LOL. There's a stamp on one side that says "do not open", they've taped the seam and ink stamped it twice (and signed the stamps), and then on the other side they've got a big white piece of paper that says "do not open." Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and leave it alone :thumbs:

ROFL! I've read here on VJ about a beneficiary whose PARENT - 1st language English - saw the 'DO NOT OPEN' and still opened it. Just because. headbonk.gif

POE is done.it went smooth.driving to Virginia.4 hours left till I reach home.hubby had to sign a form with me when I was doing POE.I miss by dad.he is crying for me.im going back to Canada next month June 27 for his surgery.

WOW!! Neela, try to be open minded. I'm Canadian and have lived in both Canada (ALL over the country) and the United States. There are MANY polite and decent Americans, just as there are MANY rude and offensive Canadians. You and your husband went through a lot to make this move happen and heading into it with that mindset is going to make your adjustment more difficult. I hope you will find that you are pleasantly surprised, more often than not, in your new home.

I'm guessing you not need to source out local shops for underbritches, or any clothing that's cultural-specific - you packed it all.

That's an exceptionally long drive, though. I pray you guys stopped once, overnight, to get some sleep?

So, use a telephone on Tuesday, and ask NVC Supervisor to join up the casefiles.

No, you won't get a refund of that 2nd 88 bucks you paid, sorry.

It's ok with the $88, thanks for advice on how to join up the cases!!!

You can find some fellow 'from my country' people in the city where your husband lives, if you look hard enough. Yer Muslima, yes? hit the biggest mosque in town, and talk to the top 5 Aunties there - they know all for the city.
