The new airport is pretty, but wonky as all get out. The security is 'backwards' and doesn't make sense. Then who's bright idea was it to not put restaurants on the public side of security?! The in-laws used to enjoy taking one of us to the airport early and have lunch/dinner at a place before we would have to go through security.

You are not kidding about the airport - they had some good restaurants and shops before, and somehow the flight paths suck just a little bit extra now too. Coming in, the landing is a lot more rough than I remember them being...it's like there's a slight crosswind now, where before it wasn't SO bad. Oh well, just another small non-issue in the grand scheme of "things"...and it shouldn't be so hard to find out when it's best to get there - I just saw that they have a listing of the departures online. That works for me! :)

PI isn't eligible for electronic processing, everything you do will have to be by snail mail.

The petitioner will handle and sign all the affidavit of support package details. The Beneficiary will have to fill out, sign and send the documents for the IV package. The beneficiary can do this ahead of time and send it to the Petitioner, and the petitioner sends in the package to NVC or they can mail the IV package directly to NVC from where they are.

Yes, only a few countries are eligible for electronic processing. The link to that list is in the first post.

Please read post 2 here about that expiration date you're referring to: http://www.visajourn...s-expire-today/

As for payment, everyone can pay online through the payment portal.

Aaaarrrrgggggghhhhhh!!!

Got a checklist - and not a false one. It's for my original marriage certificate which I knew might be an issue because I sent the package without the original explaining our situation. I have since sent the original and it should get there in the next few days but I didnt put the barcoded cover sheet with it. I did write a cover letter with all our details including case number, will it still get to where it's going?

Also, I got a checklist for the original copy of my divorce decree, but I already sent that? What does this mean? They don't think it's original?

I am on hold to NVC now. So upset. Could have had case closed today!!!

They might have over looked the divorce decree and issued a check list with the marriage certificate. It should get to where it needs to with out the barcoded sheet if you put a cover letter on it, but it might be delayed a few hours/day or so. when you get a hold of someone tell them you sent the marriage certificate and the divorce decree was in the package.

After you're off the phone with them shoot them an email with your case number etc and explain what you have done to fix the problem.

Once your marriage certificate arrives, call them until they have acknowledged they received it. Then aggravate them for a case complete :)

Spoke to Riley  She told me marriage certificate will get there ok without the barcoded coversheet so long as all the information was included in my hand written coversheet (which it was). I told her the divorce decree WAS the original and she checked some things and then logged a review because it appeared I sent what was needed. Has anyone experienced this? Is this going to significantly delay my case? Should I just get another original divorce decree and send it in ASAP?

Please help.

Thanks sheeska!

Much appreciate sound advice.

Visa in hand...they REALLY don't want you to open the yellow envelope LOL. There's a stamp on one side that says "do not open", they've taped the seam and ink stamped it twice (and signed the stamps), and then on the other side they've got a big white piece of paper that says "do not open." Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and leave it alone

Yes, I had some what of the same issue. I sent them tax transcripts and some genius jet boy sent me a check list for W2s. I had to argue with six different people and send three emails to get it fixed. (I don't have W2s or 1099s, I own my business and employ only myself, I sent them transcripts for that very reason.)

Hi Saylin

If you do it all online, do the beneficiary or petitioner need to sign any forms or send a form by mail throughout the NVC process?

Called NVC today, case not receive yet.

yes, mine too. my husband called yesterday and our case is not yet with NVC..we got approved may 15, 2012...looks like my son will be really late for the opening of school in the US.

...did I mention the letters on the white piece of paper were all capital letters and done in bold black font? :)

Yeah, definitely do NOT open it. You'll waste a lot of time (and money) going back to the Consulate in Montreal and getting it re-sealed.
