Howdy all! Just thought I would officially join the thread. We received our NOA2 on May 10th, but I don't know if that makes us May filers or not. I do know that this thread is so incredibly useful. I was completely confused before I sat down to read it all. Saylin's links are truly lifesavers. Thanks to all of you (and congrats to everyone getting their approvals)!

At the moment, we're just waiting for a case number. I imagine our file isn't even at the NVC. I haven't tried calling yet, but maybe I will start next week. Keeping in mind all I've learned here, I am guessing we may get our interview scheduled sometime in September/October. We will likely have to wait longer than I wanted to get our paperwork together. I love my husband but he does tend to procrastinate. For a while now, I have been gently nudging him to get to work on his police clearance. He just sent the application for it off yesterday, and complained to me that "It's going to take four to six weeks!" It took all my fortitude not to say "I told ya so!" To be fair, we did get our NOA2 several weeks earlier than I thought we would. Still, it's frustrating to think this will add to our wait.

To keep busy, I'm putting together some photo albums to take to the interview, and keeping my fingers crossed that we get a case number in a week or two. Good luck to everyone waiting!

My NOA2 May 14,2012 called NVC today but case not receive yet, i'll call again next wk

I'm at the stage where my AOS bill has PAID status. And today i just made a payment for the IV bill.

I'm gonna send the AOS packet in a few days. then send the IV when i receive the documents from my wife in Indonesia.

QUESTION: When should my wife do her medical examination? Do we need to wait for instructions from the NVC?

after she has the interview appointment letter.

THIS USUALLY comes in via email, NVC sets the appointment for the IV unit in Jakarta...

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Welcome! :) And you're in the right place. Just stick with the current month for the NVC threads.

Since it's currently taking around 4+ weeks from NOA2 to get a case number, you should be getting yours in around 2 weeks or so.

Because you still have about 2 weeks left, and then another 2 weeks or so from being able to send in the IV package, your husband's procrastination probably won't hurt you too bad.

And as long as Australia is the average of 2 months from case complete to interview date, your interview will probably be around August/September.

By the way, I LOVE your name ;)

Oh, yes, my favorite Ring of Power! I have a tiny crush on Lord Elrond :)

Thanks for the welcome and the info, Saylin. I hope you're right about the timeframe--that would be great!

Speaking of which, I wonder if anyone has any input on one matter which is causing us a bit of consternation. Our second anniversary will be at the end of January, 2013. If we have his interview sometime around Septemberish, I am thinking that we might be better off waiting 'til our anniversary has passed before he travels to the US. The downside is, of course, we both want him here ASAP (holiday plans, etc.) and like everyone else, we're tired of waiting! Is holding off a few months worth bypassing the whole 2 year green card and adjustment of status stuff? I feel like it is, just so he can have that ten year card in hand, but I don't know if I can manage to wait to get him here. Argh! We just can't decide.

OK, back to Middle-Earth, it's the Spring Festival in LotRO ;)

OK so story of my life, something bad always have to happen before something good does.

Yesterday parts of PA flooded and i had to drive thru it, i drive a crysler 300 (doesnt sit high), I stood there in my car looking at the water thinking i wont make it, i cant go right and i deff cant go back with a 100 car pile up behind me so i can only go fwd. i sat for a lil bit  and this white Audi went around me and drove fwd. finally i got the B*lls to drive thur so i went slow and droves as close to the median in the middle of the rd. finally we are almost out of the water when the impatient white Audi car decided to give out :bonk: . oh gezzz there are 50 cars now stuck in water up to their doors for 30 mins. Usually in Trinidad people will come out and help push the car thur and to the side but not here where i live, every man for themselves. firefighters came and push him out i was never that happy no get out of water before. my car drove home but now its gotta go in to the shop, waw 2 days before vaccation just my luck. no yippy skippy dippy d dippy here :(

So now that some thing bad has happened hopfully the something good is OUR INTERVIEW DATE, please lord please let me be happy :) before i get the bill from the Repair shop. :o

That sounds horrible. Glad u made it outta there ok. I would've freaked.

Case Complete!

Thank you God. Thank you Saylin and everyone in this forum that has helped us fill out these forms, submit packages correctly and save hundreds on lawyer fees! So glad to have found this site!!!!!!!!

I think I'll take a break from NVC and start inquiring about the interview date in the famous 2nd week of the month script! LOL

I hope everyone has a good and safe Memorial Day Weekend :)

Congrats!!!

YAAAAYY!! Got my case numbers yesterday evening, and today my wife sent off her ds3032 email (with much prodding and wringing of hands :D ), and I paid the AOS bill!! We're finally moving again!

Congrats!!!

Even while I'm in Canada, I'll be checking my email and keeping up to date on the monthly NVC thread ;) I can't leave my immigration babies alone for too long laughing.gif

But yeah, I'm much looking forward to this trip! It's been nearly two years since I've been on an airplane and I'm super duper excited about that. Plus, my uncle and aunt-to-be are finally getting married the day after I land (the whole reason for this trip), and I've been waiting for them to get married for years now, so I'm super excited!! Plus, seeing the rest of my family :) And Canada! I miss not seeing Canadian flags laughing.gif

Hehe :)

Soooo, our IV bill appeared as PAID early this afternoon! My DS-260 has been completed (reviewed by me at least 10 times and by my Hubby at least 5) and submitted. Supporting documents e-mail has been sent and auto-response from NVC has been received. Yaaaaay!!! As prepared as I was to complete the DS-260, it took longer than I expected and my brain is drained now!

Feels really good to have that done!! Now to wait for our "Case Complete"!!! :D

Congrats in the progress!!! :)

After being in the NVC phase since mid February and mail issues with both the I-864 and DS-230 packets we finally got our case complete today! I'm excited that everything we sent in was accepted and eagerly awaiting finding out when my wife's interview will be.

Once the NVC schedules the interview with the consulate, will the consulate send out a physical packet (including interview letter and instructions) and mail it to my wife?

Good luck to everyone!

Congratulations!!!

If it is so close to the 2 year mark, it might be good to wait, but I totally get that you might be impatient waiting Anither day knowing you can be together. The distance and waiting sucks and makes it hard to think about making things easier for the future. Best of luck in whatever you decide. It's too soon for that now anyway. As the dates become more definite you'll be able to plan better.

Hey guys, I just received my tax return transcript for 2011 yesterday for the hubby to take to his interview. Can I scan it and send or does he need to have the original paper with him? There's no seals or signatures so I'm thinking a scan would be fine.

NVC gets the open dates from consulate, NVC schedules you in an open slot, then informs consulate, either the next day or a day after your case is sent to your consulate. Until then the consulate has no idea you exist.

Thank you very much for your info...I hope to get some good news from NVC soon...Once again thanks
