Howdy all! Just thought I would officially join the thread. We received our NOA2 on May 10th, but I don't know if that makes us May filers or not. I do know that this thread is so incredibly useful. I was completely confused before I sat down to read it all. Saylin's links are truly lifesavers. Thanks to all of you (and congrats to everyone getting their approvals)!

At the moment, we're just waiting for a case number. I imagine our file isn't even at the NVC. I haven't tried calling yet, but maybe I will start next week. Keeping in mind all I've learned here, I am guessing we may get our interview scheduled sometime in September/October. We will likely have to wait longer than I wanted to get our paperwork together. I love my husband but he does tend to procrastinate. For a while now, I have been gently nudging him to get to work on his police clearance. He just sent the application for it off yesterday, and complained to me that "It's going to take four to six weeks!" It took all my fortitude not to say "I told ya so!" To be fair, we did get our NOA2 several weeks earlier than I thought we would. Still, it's frustrating to think this will add to our wait.

To keep busy, I'm putting together some photo albums to take to the interview, and keeping my fingers crossed that we get a case number in a week or two. Good luck to everyone waiting!

Welcome! :) And you're in the right place. Just stick with the current month for the NVC threads.

Since it's currently taking around 4+ weeks from NOA2 to get a case number, you should be getting yours in around 2 weeks or so.

Because you still have about 2 weeks left, and then another 2 weeks or so from being able to send in the IV package, your husband's procrastination probably won't hurt you too bad.

And as long as Australia is the average of 2 months from case complete to interview date, your interview will probably be around August/September.

By the way, I LOVE your name ;)

Question!! Is it possible to schedule an interview appointment online for IR5 case???? coz as of right now i'm about to but not sure!! headbonk.gif helpsmilie.gif

Im seriously freaking out right now!! >,< i can select the date i want!!! Is this for real??

it's a link provided by USEM in the Philippines.. can i really do it online??

I've heard that PI IV does schedule online - but that's for K-1 visas.. Unsure how it works for other visa types, sorry. Great question for the PI forum, though - have you found it here ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I am surprised, i didn t know this big envelope will be needed at the embassy. I was informed by the medical office that this envelope is to be taken with me on my trip day to the US. :o

ya, it's a training issue, to be certain. That doctor needs some training, apparently.

you must bring it to the interview, as it's part of the requirements.

don't bring it on interview day? no visa for you, that day, even if you pass the interview.

We have two weeks waiting to get an answer from the NVC...when will they contact us?

well, it depends on how fast or slow you wish to traverse NVC.

DO NOTHING, but wait - and you'll get something via postal mail in about 3 months.

Have the USCitizen Petitioner (Spouse) call in to NVC, instead, and follow LingChe's shortcuts, (see post #1) then the casefile can be in/out of NVC within 4 to 7 weeks.

At this point, the edge of intake at NVC, it really is your choice on how you wish to traverse NVC.

Want Speed? Study LingChe.

Wish 'to be contacted' first? Then yer in the 'postal' track, and that takes about 9 months, from start to finish.

Choose something, soonish, aye?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
