Good review good.gif It helps fellow Canadians what to expect yes.gif

Please refer to the FAQ I wrote on post 2. There's an exact question about this there and what I suggest doing.

Thanks again I can't believe I missed that part all together. Guess I was trying to hard lol. Thanks again!!

There's a lot of information on the first two posts, so it's easy to miss something. But, there's no real way to shorten it up as there's just so much information laughing.gif

If you're referring to getting a case number, you've still got about another 2 weeks to go. It's currently taking NVC about 4+ weeks from NOA2 to assign a case number.

Thank you! Now...when you get the case number...do they send something to you..im kindda lost in this NVC stage.

HELP!

it takes them forever to issue a case number from the time they receive it, about 10 business days or so. Just keep calling them and once your process starts, dont listen to their 20 business day speech lol everything with nvc is about waiting but it can all be rather fast, and then you wait for an interview date to be assigned!!! good luck

Thanks, we'll keep at it.

Yes, after a few days of the case number being assigned, NVC will send an initial information package that contains the case number, IIN, etc.

I'm at the stage where my AOS bill has PAID status. And today i just made a payment for the IV bill.

I'm gonna send the AOS packet in a few days. then send the IV when i receive the documents from my wife in Indonesia.

QUESTION: When should my wife do her medical examination? Do we need to wait for instructions from the NVC?

I don't think Indonesia has advance medicals, so your wife will have to wait until an interview date has been scheduled as most panel physicians require the interview letter at the medical. You will NOT get instructions about the medical from NVC.

After being in the NVC phase since mid February and mail issues with both the I-864 and DS-230 packets we finally got our case complete today! I'm excited that everything we sent in was accepted and eagerly awaiting finding out when my wife's interview will be.

Once the NVC schedules the interview with the consulate, will the consulate send out a physical packet (including interview letter and instructions) and mail it to my wife?

Good luck to everyone!

Don't worry, be happy.

I am copying and pasting this from the VJ EZGuideSpouse:

Foreign Consulate Steps 1) Consulate receives the NVC package in about 2 weeks time and notifies the beneficiary (Packet 4). NVC notifies the petitioner with the interview appointment letter.

2) Beneficiary proceeds for medical with the U.S panel physician. Don't open the sealed medical envelope from the physician

3) Beneficiary proceeds for Consulate interview

So is the medical examination BEFORE or AFTER the interview?

If it's before, I would like to make sure she is able to get an appointment for the medical beforehand.

The medical takes place before the interview (medical results are required at the interview). But to have the medical, the interview date has to be scheduled, so you can bring the interview letter.
