For ROC (Removal of Conditions), it goes like this. (I'm going to use my own example). I did my POE on May 12th, 2011. Once I got my green card, the expiration date is May 12, 2013 (two years later from POE). So, I have to file ROC within 90 days before my green card's expiration, which would be February 11th, 2013. So, for me, I have between February 11th, 2013 to May 11th, 2013 (one day before it expires), to send my ROC package.

Once POE happens in your case, I can tell you when the earliest you can file for ROC yes.gif

thank you as always, you rock! totally forgot about the greencard...is that automatically coming to my address once the POE is passed? So excited!!!!

You're welcome ^_^

Yup, a few days/weeks after you POE, the green card will be mailed to the address on the DS-230. That address will most likely be confirmed with you by an officer at POE.

So I have a easy question so my marriage certificate is legal size. So if I scan it for in to my computer for EP and its shrunk to fit a letter size page will it matter if my wife shows them the marriage certificate in legal size should there be a problem or not?.

One other thing nvc received my case today but no case number my notice date for my noa2 is May 7. Now the real waiting begins for a case number. Hopefully soon.

Thanks in advanced

Hey Saylin, not sure if you'll know this, but we got our visa in the mail with the sealed envelope! it talks about the i-751 in there but in a language is a bit confusing. it talks about conditional residence since we have only celebrated our one year anniversary this april. so it says 'as a result you and your spouse must file a joint petition (form i-751) with the CIS to get the conditional basis of your status removed. (this is where i am lost with the language) the petition must be filed within the 90 days period immediately preceding the second anniversary of the date you were granted conditional permanent residence status"

so does that mean, if we were given it on may 17 of 2012, we will have to file this no later than february of 2014?

i hope this is right. please let me know! thanks for all your help through this, couldn't have done it without you and every other member on this amazing site!

alas. there's no resident status for a calendar date used for computation until the green card hits the door. Then ya use that date that's printed on the green card (there are two) .

Getting the immigrant visa is a step - now he can immigrate.

Once he crosses the border on that immigrant visa, the green card is ordered automagically, and usually 20 to 30 days after arrival, it shows up in the mail.

Study the green card when it arrives, it controls the dates yer asking about.

Good Luck with the POE !

Hi everyone! Hope all is well! I have been missing from the Filers board as you can tell, but it's because I've been a bit busy with work. Plus, as I had mentioned before, we were stalling a bit with some docs., but now we are back in full action!

I wanted to ask you all a few questions....are there no specific instructions for the DS-230 like for the other forms? I can't seem to find any.

Also, on the DS-230, 31a and 31b, I have looked over previous posts on Visa Journey but am not 100% sure...in terms of "person(s) who will accompany you to the US"....I don't put myself, right? I only put any intending immigrants (which in our case would be 0)? I am just confused because since I live abroad, I will be going to the US with my hubby, but I am already a USC :-)

And lastly, I also checked previous visajourney posts but found no answer....do you know if there are any DS-230 forms that can be saved? In ours, we have to retype everything every time we open it.

Thanks!

About as specific as there is ->
