WOW lots to read.. Im going on vacation and just been busy trying to clean the house from top to bottom before we leave, ud swear the President is comming over for lunch lolll. Been so busy NVC hasn't been on my mind, I called last night at 8pm and they had no date for me. They told me to call back the 2nd week of June thats when they might have one, I know thats not true. I will call them back on Friday before I leave im hoping they can tell me something positive by then cus i cant call them for one week once I leave.

KERRY Danggggggggggggg where is that IV bill!!!!!!!!

You were right with me...... hope wen it comes time to issuse u an interview date they give u the best and 1st one.

I hope you get your date before leaving for vacation! That would be so great for both of you!! :D

Tell me about it!! The supervisor I spoke with wasn't of any more help than the last two reps. So annoying. :bonk: Apparently they JUST entered our DS-261 into the system yesterday. I was told by two different reps last week that we should receive our invoice by Friday (May 18th). However, considering I had initially submitted the DS-261 on April 26th (and a second one on May 10th), it's all taking much longer than makes sense to me. I even tried asking the supervisor if she could have our bill released today. The answer was no. I'm probably losing patience because we're so close to finishing with NVC.

I realize that everyone here is (im)patiently waiting for their case to progress through this system and my situation is hardly unique. People have come up against far worse things than this. Like everyone else, I want to be with my spouse and the closer we get to the end of the month of May, the more I see a July interview date waving bye-bye. If I can be in Pittsburgh before August at this point, I'll be THRILLED!

Well, if the DS-261 was just entered yesterday (why it took so long is beyond me), then you should definitely get the IV bill this week. If you pay it immediately, and complete the DS-260 asap and email off the IV package, then you should have a case complete by the end of next week, with an interview in July.

Hubby is ready to pay the bill the minute it's available and I'm ready to fill out the DS-260 (have the DS-230 that I filled in AGES ago to use as reference, etc.) as soon as I can access it. I hope you're right about the case complete, Saylin!

Mr. Sheeshka's DS-261 was never accepted, and still not to this day. I ended up sending the DS-3032 template. I had the bill two days after the emailed DS-3032 was accepted.

I was starting to wonder if I should have sent the DS-3032 template. I noticed that people who have submitted that seem to have their bill released quickly after. They need to get their own system worked out.

It's weird how NVC fluctuates. I had sent my DS-261 on a Thursday, and by the following Monday, the IV bill was invoiced. Yet with you, it's been weeks blink.gif

If for whatever reason, the IV bill hasn't been posted by the end of this week, just send the DS-3032. Hope it doesn't come to that though.

They are :)

Keep working at it (both of you and you can tell him I said so :) )

Thank you!!

Total time inside the U.S. Consulate!

I thought so otherwise 2 1/2 hours was a pretty extensive interview for someone who was told not to worry.

I survived camping the wilds of Alberta. By Monday afternoon I almost felt human again :P Today is better. :)

Excellent advice, as usual! I hope it won't come to that either. I have my cover letter for the IV supporting documents all done (except for the date, printing, signing and scanning), scanning of my passport photos, biographic page of my passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate and my police clearance are all done and in a PDF package. Just have to insert the bar code sheet and the cover sheet and that will be ready to e-mail to NVC. I don't think I've ever wanted to pay a bill so badly!!

Yeah, I was pretty annoyed earlier today. NVC loves to give "non-responsive" answers. I see that once your DS-3032 was accepted, they issued your bill pretty much immediately! I hope I have the same result. I'm going to wear out my keyboard checking the payment portal!

I agree, this HAS been (and continues to be) a stressful process. I KNOW it will all be worth it and that one day this will seem like a blip in our lives. Trying to keep everything in perspective is easier some days than others though!

I hate hate hate seeing NVC in such a slow down. I keep getting PMs from people asking me how I got through so fast. I feel bad telling them, "Pure luck, we got through before the big dump NVC had all over everyone else"

I woke up today and realized we'll be leaving for Montreal in five days. I'm now stressing over paperwork that I'd quit stressing over a few weeks ago. I'm again going through our folder making sure everything is perfect. I think I'll be like Shell and once the interview is over I'll crash for hours lol.

The time frame for getting through NVC is definitely different for everyone and you cannot predict how long it will take. I know that not having our AOS package ready to go immediately slowed some things down. However, since the wait for our IV bill continues, it seems that didn't actually make a difference. I know that once I've submitted the DS-260 and e-mailed the supporting documents, I'll be relieved. It only took 4 days for them to review and accept our I-864 and I hope it will be just as fast for the IV package.

Yaaaay!!! Montreal in 5 days!! So happy for you and Mr. Sheeshka! I know when it's time for me to prepare for the interview that I'll be going through the folder again...and again and again! You'll deserve to crash for a few hours after the interview. I'll bet the ole adrenaline will be in overdrive!

Darnell - is your crystal ball working? I need a prediction on when case complete will be?

My packages ( both AOS and DS230) were delivered at 10:29am on Friday 18th May. Just called NVC and Jim told me (you'll never guess) to wait 20 business days. As if!
