hi - Everyone is wrong.

and that's ok.

I-130 submittal to USCIS - photocopies only

DS-230 submittal to NVC - originals or certified copies PLUS photocopies

I-864 submittal to NVC - original signed I-864, tax transcripts or photocopies of tax documents, plus originals of asset valuations (if assets are included).

Please tell Everyone I said hullo, and that they are giving you really bad advice.

you will always get them back IF you ask for them on interview day. You won't get the PCC back though, so be prepared for that disappointment. In general terms, you will get your civil docs returned IF the photocopies were included (per the instructions) with the submittal. Most people miss that point, and then complain about it after the interview.

ask your wife to read a bit, though - just in case she missed something?

Dont forget the original marriage certificate (nikah nama) + english translation and also original police certificate.

05-14-2012 (Monday) - AOS and IV status showed "Paid"

05-14-2012 - AOS and IV packages mailed

05-15-2012 - Package Delivered.

05-21-2012 - Case Completed. (11 Days after Case # assigned)

06-07-2012 - Got Interview date assigned for July 18th @ 8AM

06-13-2012 - Medical Done

07-18-2012 - Interview Done - Approved

07-20-2012 - Visa Received

First off, thanks for all the anniversary well wishes! Had a great day! Went to Sioux Falls (big city about an hour and a half away). Had lunch at Olive Garden, went to Best Buy (every geek's dream ;) ), watched Dark Shadows (Johnny Depp luv.gif) at an awesome theater, went to PetCo and PetSmart to look at fish ( I want to get another one now laughing.gif), and then had supper at the Outback Steakhouse. Awesome day :D

Start calling tomorrow to ask for updates ;)

July is very realistic. For Canadians, it's usually two months from case complete to interview date, so July is when it'll likely be.

I just got off the phone with my wife, her interview was simple 2hours & 30 minutes. The end results was......................

USCIS (192 days, August 24 2011 to March 2 2012. No RFE's).
NVC (30 days, March 12 to April 11. Case expedited due to NVC errors).

Montreal US Consulate, awaiting interview date (14 days, April 12 to April 26).

05/09/2012 - medical in Toronto - passed!
05/22/2012 - interview - passed!
05/25/2012 - visa in hand!!! biggrin.png
06/09/2012 - POE @ YWG (Winnipeg Int'l Airport)

Removal of Conditions submitted March 24, 2014, received March 26, 2014

"RFE" for page 3 of application received, date March 27, 2014. Package re-submitted with all papers re-attached.

04/07/2014 - NOA1 Date

05/07/2014 - Biometrics in Charlotte, NC

11/05/2014 - APPROVED! Citizenship in 5 months!

11/10/2014 - NOA2 in hand.

11/20/2014 - 10 yr GC in hand! :D

Yes, start calling NVC and DOS today, if you want to know of the interview date right away. If you don't mind knowing right away, then you can just wait for the email.

Yes, you can start calling NVC and DOS every day now (if you wish). Otherwise, you can just wait for the email (which usually arrives a few hours after the date is assigned).

When putting all the paperwork that you need to take with to the interview is there any certin way you should put it together? Are there things i should not use?

Green Card issued 9/28/2014 after filing I-601 Wavier

Removal of Conditions
6/6/2014 - Meeting with Lawyer to start process
7/15/2014 - ROC mailed
7/24/2014 - Received at USCIS
8/11/2014 - Biometric appointment notice received
8/18/2014 - Biometric appointment

10/24/2014 - ROC Approved!
