The intent of coming back and vote I think it might count... also in MA they dont have a voter card, I think the NVC knows that ...

What do you recommend for him to HAVE right now since he is abroad?

IMO, there's two types o things he can prove up:

1. proof of existing domicile in USA or

2. proof of intent to re-establish domicile in USA.

YOU have to show HIS proof of one or the other, by interview day, at the IV unit there in Brasil.

So, bear that in mind, these two types o things, when yer reading the Canadien thread about it. It's a long thread, suggest you read the first 3 pages then the last 8 pages...

:wow: My wife interview is at 8:30am in the morning and she just received a call from the U.S. Consulate telling her "Not to Worry", :innocent: The officer told her after her interview she will give her a letter to bring her medical results back on Wednesday. The CO was surprised that my wife got so much done in 4 days :thumbs: it cost me a small fortune :yes: but well worth it!

HKG, unlike GUZ, is 'so accommodating', yes?

Was it an officer (us citizen) or a hkg person, a member of staff?

Regardless, what she is getting is a 'call in letter' - that letter allows her entrance back into the embassy on wednesday. Tell her to make sure she has that, instead of a 'send in letter' (which has instructions for postal mail processing, which will suck and delay things more)

It was a call from the U.S. Officer that will swear her in on the final stage of her interview! The interview is in 12 hours, but the officer knows my wife will not have the medical results back until Wednesday at 9am..One day after the interview and she told my wife that she will be fine......She will give her a Letter to come back and bring the Medical Results on Wednesday! That's positive thinking from a American Officer and makes me feel good!!!

Can I bring a book with me while we're waiting at the Consulate?

Because they don't allow cell phones correct? Just wondering how to pass the time if we have a long wait ahead of us :)

Not sure about ur Consulate but in Trinidad my aunt and husband took a word search game book, it only keep them busy for 1 hr tho :rofl: they had 2 more hrs to go.

Yes, books are allowed. But, if you're going to be there early (like I was), I assure you, you will NOT have time for a book. I barely spent more than 2 minutes sitting down. The longest sit, for me, was having to wait to get my fingerprints re-done as they weren't done properly the first time. And that was only like a 5-10 minute wait.

If you get to the consulate late though, anytime after like 8 or 9am, then yes, bring a book as you'll most likely be spending a few hours at the consulate waiting to be called.

I just went to the medical office where i made my test, i was so anxious so i decided to go although i was told that my result would be ready May 23rd. When i arrive, the lady ask me if i had an appointment today, i avoided the question and told her i wanted to know the result, she laughed and said to me that i was not listed among the people that had problem with their chest Xray, she told me i should pass and not to worry. However she told me she was not able to give me the result today and i will have to come tomorrow may 22nd and give her a call before i come so she can tell me the result :lol:

2/16/2012-------- IV fee bill shows " PAID"

2/17/2012-------- IV package sent via USPS

2/24/2012-------- IV package reviewed and accepted

3/27/2012-------- AOS checklist express mailed via USPS

3/28/2012-------- AOS Checklist received by NVC

3/30/2012-------- Case Complete ( Thank you Lord )

Medical / Consulate / POE

5/11/2012-------- Medical Exam

6/12/2012-------- Interview date / APPROVED

6/21/2012 -------- POE Newark, NJ

OMG! I think i need to join this thread. :) .. cant wait for the NVC decisions..

By the way.. Since our papers are on NVC stage....is there anything we need to get worry of??? what are the possibilities we could get denied or approved?
