So when doing "EP" and when it is time to email the "AOS package" do you also include the tax transcripts for 3 years, pay stubs and employment letter with the I-864. How about for the IV package do you send in evidence like pics or letters or phone logs or do you just bring that stuff to the interview?

Thanks in advance

hey SAYLIN did you pay your online bills with credit card? or they want debit?

NVC only accepts payment online with a US banking account, so either a checking or savings account. You cannot pay by a credit or debit card. Please read: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3906.html

So when doing "EP" and when it is time to email the "AOS package" do you also include the tax transcripts for 3 years, pay stubs and employment letter with the I-864. The entire AOS package will be as ONE pdf file. It'll include the bar-coded cover sheet, the I-864, tax information, etc. For the IV package, it's the same thing; all ONE pdf file.

Then, you bring all the original files and documents with you to the interview where you'll have them over then.

Americans do NOT need a visa to visit Canada. My husband visited me five times in Canada once we started the process and he didn't need to get any visa. He just needed his passport.

Rujby is not a US Citizen though.

Rujby you're going to have to look at Canada's requirements to see what you will need to visit Canada. The green card means that you can return to the US.

It shouldn't make a difference whether you're a citizen or LPR.

"Non-Canadians

When you enter Canada, a CBSA officer may ask to see your passport and a valid visa, if one is necessary. If you are a citizen of the United States, you do not need a passport to enter Canada. However, you should carry proof of your citizenship, such as a birth certificate, certificate of citizenship or naturalization, as well as photo identification. If you are a permanent resident of Canada or the U.S, you should bring your Permanent Resident Card with you."

According to that, doesn't seem like a visa is required.

get used to "20 business days" talk hahah you will hear it every time you call NVC for any updates, but dont listen to them, call everyday for a case number!!! good luck but lately its been taking 2-3 weeks to get a case number, the rest goes a little faster! good luck

Cheeky critter that answered the phone last night told me it was currently "AT LEAST 28 BUSINESS DAYS" and that continuing to call could further delay processing of my file! Wow...someone must have spit in his morning Cheerios!

Nonetheless, I am undetered, and will continue to call daily

Well, he is gonna register to vote this year but he didnt do that yet =/

We were planning to do that, but we are not sure if he is gonna be there in time. The last time he voted we a while ago, so he thinks its not gonna help

He doesnt have a voters card, he said maybe MA doesnt have it

so that's a big NO, don't have that stuff.

wanting and planning tis not the same as having.

maybe you should study up at the domicile thread the Canadiens have started?

I mean, study a LOT...

see http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/164618-proving-domicile-when-not-living-in-the-us/

then read it all. take a day, make notes, pen to paper.

Good Luck !

Rujby needs something though.

Let's see. He'll have a stamp in his passport, and that's all he needs to validate his CR-1 visa into an I-551 temp green card (with a 1 year validity)

and that's all he needs.

He knows this, he's read this stuff all ready. He's just getting the jitters and he's looking for validation for the stuff he thinks he remembers .

Once IR-1 / CR-1 is approved and visa in hand; how much time do you have to use it for the first time?

depends on what's stamped in the visa.

TYPICALLY, there's 6 months on that duration,

and pay attention to those dates -

plan to arrive in the USA no later than 1 day from the expiration date.

Rujby - did you tell them that MOST LIKELY you won't get the visa on interview day,

and instead,

it'll be sent out to you via courier service, 8 to 10 days later?

The intent of coming back and vote I think it might count... also in MA they dont have a voter card, I think the NVC knows that ...

What do you recommend for him to HAVE right now since he is abroad?

Thanks a lot, and yep Im studying... thanks for the advice, but i was doing it anyway...
