Hello Guys!

Im in doubt about the taxes returns:

My co-sponsor, my father in law, he doesn't want to order the transcripts from IRS cos he already have the taxes returns at his house.

I know that if you submit the 1040 forms you will need to send the W2s too, I told him that, but not sure if its enough?

I've read that sometimes NVC ask for attachments and schedules with the 1040 forms, but this things are the W2s? or not?

Im soooo afraid to get a RFE because of that, cos my husband and my we live abroad, very far away from him, so he is gonna do this part by himself...

Who sent the 1040 forms plz, give some help here...

Thanks a lot!

To be safe, I'd send in a duplicate of what was sent to the IRS. It could be argued that the NVC really only cares about things that contribute to your income (first portion of form 1040) and not anything after your total income (none of the before or after AGI deductions), however if your sponsor has a full copy of what he sent at tax time, including W-2s, Form 1099s and additional schedules it would be best to send all of it.

For what it's worth, I submitted my previous year tax return the same way I sent it to the IRS because tax transcripts weren't available yet and had no issues.

Good luck!

Don't worry, be happy.

YAYYYYY!!! The interview today in Trinidad went SO smoothly! My husband just called. They only asked him what my name is, when we met, and if my address is the same. He plays basketball and is really tall so the employees at the embassy made him sign the back of one of the passport photos so that they "don't have to pay for it if he goes pro".

What a huge relief. He will be back next weekend!!!! :)

Thanks to all for the support and encouragement throughout this process. Couldn't have done it without VJ.

Congrats!!! Awesome news!!! Is his visa in hand yet?

hi, can you please help me on this one.. quite lost about the DS-230 form, there is an OMB APPROVAL NO. EXPIRES: 4/30/12.. is it the expiration date of the form? or it's just nothing? trying to print it now signed it and send it to my husband immediately. but this is the only DS-230 form can be found at the USCIS website. can anyone enlighten me about this?

Please read post 2 here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/80942-ds-230-is-expire-today/

If you're sending the tax return (instead of the tax transcript), then ALL attachments, schedules, and W2s have to be included. NVC will issue a checklist if the ENTIRE tax return is not sent in.

I would HIGHLY suggest you get your co-sponsor to get those tax transcripts. They're completely FREE. And they are hundreds of times better than a tax return.

YAYYYYY!!! The interview today in Trinidad went SO smoothly! My husband just called. They only asked him what my name is, when we met, and if my address is the same. Also how long after does it take to get the interview email?

Does the email take the place of the letter that will be sent to the Binificary or is it the same thing?

I'm not sure WHO knows first; they might even both know at the same time. When I got my interview, I called DOS first and got it there. But I immediately called up NVC and got it there as well. I would suggest just calling both places. It wouldn't hurt!

And it's usually a few hours after the interview date is scheduled to receive the interview package. I found out my interview date early afternoon on a Friday and got my interview package at 6am on Saturday. The interview package contains the interview letter which the beneficiary needs for both the medical and interview.
