Well Lisa at NVC was at least nice, and knew what she was talking about!

"Your case was complete on April 9th. There still has not been an interview scheduled. Wow that's a long time"

"Yeah, tell me about it"

"You should hear something in the next week or so. Montreal must have been really booked up for May."

"Can you give me some kind of estimate on how long of a notice a person usually gets from Montreal so plans can be made?"

"In my experience, it seems Montreal usually gives about a three week notice at the very least for appointments. They may be waiting for your anniversary date to get closer so an IR-1 Visa can be issued. But that's just speculation on my part."

"Thanks Lisa, you're a gem."

"You're welcome, is there anything else I can help you with?"

"Nope, not today. Have a great day!"

What a difference!

And this one actually seemed very informed! ohmy.gif

Yesterday I received IV bill Invoice via email. I tried to login online to payment portal but cannot see a way to bill the bill. Just now I received a checklist saying I haven't made the payment yet. What should I do?

Even though you received an email, it might still take a day or two for it to be invoiced. Just to make sure, you're using IE to access the payment portal, correct?

And that checklist you got is due to them reviewing (and very probably, accepting!) your AOS package :)

I did use IE for it. Just for some reason that bill just doesn't show up to pay. Yesterday I also got confirmation they accepted AOS. I called NVC they said it could a glitch in their system either wait it out or mail the payment in.

Hello everyone!

I've been in the NVC portion of my journey for two and a half months now and I'm about ready to have my wife receive her interview date.

We've sent off everything and the AoS package has been approved now we are just waiting on her DS-230 to be approved, but mail takes forever to get to the US from Vietnam. I wish I had done more research on this site about the NVC process, as this portion is where having things prepared beforehand can save a ton of time (probably at least a month in my case).

Good luck to everyone waiting on NVC, hopefully we don't have to wait much longer!

Don't worry, be happy.

Just give it a few days. These things take time.

I looked at EZGuideSpouse last night and have few quick questions:

EZGuideSpouse: http://www.visajourn...p/EZGuideSpouse

Questions:

1. I know NVC requires AOS packet. But do we also need to send IV packet to NVC? My impression was that my wife (beneficiary) will take IV packet to US Embassy in India when she goes for an interview.

2. In Form DS-3032 (Link: http://www.state.gov...ation/80023.pdf) should my wife select 1st checkbox "I Appoint" and provide my name and address as I am the petitioner and acting as an agent for her application?

3. If I need to send IV packet to NVC as well, then should I go ahead and ask my wife to fill out DS-230 part I (with signature) and part II (without signature) and send it to me before I get my NOA2? So this will eliminate any delay to get documents from her to me in USA.

FYI, I am a december filer and waiting on my NOA2 and trying to prepare all NVC documents ready in time.

Awesome, grats! kicking.gif

And yay for a medical appointment. Make sure you keep the records in a safe place this time and don't lose it for the medical :P

Oh, these records will be kept in a VERY safe place. I don't recall EVER seeing my vaccination records and since my Mum is deceased, I can't ask her what happened to them. I think it was a result of moving 21 times before I was 20!

I called DoS today to find out if we have an interview yet... nothing. I usually don't let these drones on the other end of the phone get to me too much, but the chick today REALLY got my goat.

I asked how much of a notice to people usually get so travel plans can be made. Canada is a really big country and we are on the opposite side from Quebec.

"Well if your husband really wants his green card, you'll find a way to make things work" ######.

Then I hung up. :crying:

GOOD LORD! What a BEYOTCH! That was absolutely unnecessary and completely rude. I'm glad Lisa at NVC was helpful.

So i called NVC this morning to see if they scanned in my IV packet yet and Abby told me that the case was complete as of this morning... I freaked out hung up with her and decided I needed confirmation. LOL, Sandy confirmed it so case complete for me!!!:dance::dance:

Count me in for waiting for an interview now. I'm so freakin excited!!! Still haven't told the hubby  Can't get a hold of him.

:dance::dancing::dance::dancing::dance: CONGRATULATIONS!!! :dance::dancing::dance::dancing::dance:

Such great news!! Hope you can get in touch with your Hubby soon!

1. No, the IV package is mailed to NVC.

2. Don't fill out the actual DS-3032 form. Refer to the first post and there's a D-3032 email template. Emailing the DS-3032 would be faster, easier, and free, compared to mailing the DS-3032 from India.

3. Yes, I would suggest she do this to avoid waiting for the package once you're able to send it. I'd suggest waiting until you get your NOA2 for her to mail it though so the forms and documents are as up to date as possible. Just have her gather everything now and wait to sign part 1 of the DS-230 until she mails it out. I'd also suggest she send you a few blank copies of the DS-230 with her signature in case you get a checklist for the DS-230 and then you won't have to wait for her to mail you it again.

Oh, these records will be kept in a VERY safe place. I don't recall EVER seeing my vaccination records and since my Mum is deceased, I can't ask her what happened to them. I think it was a result of moving 21 times before I was 20!

I'm guessing all that moving did it...

Thanks a lot Saylin!!!!! Appreciate your quick response.

After reading your reply, I am thinking to start preparing a list of all IV documents which I need from my wife in India send it to me before I get my NOA2. So I won't waste time on it after NOA2 is issued. I may send my final list on this thread sometime tonight to verify I am not preparing any documents incorrectly.

Regarding DS-3032 thru email: if my wife sends out this email from her email address, does she need to send it thru mail as a backup? Or people on VJ only send it thru email only?

I will have her sign DS-230 filled up and signed it and send it to me and I may ask her to send it again only if the document is changed by the time I get my NOA2. I guess chances of change in DS-230 form are less, so hopefully she won't need to send it to me twice.
