I know there are many forums on what to take etc and it is advised to take pretty much everything !! But i was wondering, apart from all the obvious documents and everything listed on the interview notice, do we need to take my husbands tax information (i.e all the stuff we filed with the I-864)? We submitted turbotax papers,is it best to get the original tax papers from the IRS office? HOw long does this usually take? we have exactly 2.5 weeks until our interview date?

along with this we will take:

Copies of all forms we filled out

birth cetificates, passports, entrance visa (for me), my husbands social security etc. photos and bonafide of marriage etc

hope someone can help !!

thank you in advance :)

You only need to take what is on the notice...everything else is fluff. If its something you feel will give real strength to proving your relationship bring it just in case...they are only interested in the solid stuff...ie pictures with family, tax transcripts if filed jointly, other joint accounts...like car insurance etc.

I organized everything we shared jointly (insurance, bank, etc) plus originals of everything we submitted with the AOS package and some pictures into binders and took it all to the interview. The only thing the IO looked at was birth certificates, my I-94 which he took, and a few of the pictures. But I'm glad I had everything organized back then because putting together the ROC package this time around was a breeze!
