2-K1 Appointments

Hello,

My Fiancée & I are very confused with regards to the K1 interview which has been scheduled at Abu Dhabi.

We received an email from US Embassy Abu Dhabi later in February confirming appointment date & time of May 14, 2012 at 8:00 AM (this email included attachments III & IV - appointment letter & medical instructions). She is all set for the appointment & has made travel arrangements as per the same - earlier this month we contacted the consulate via email just to confirm the same appointment which they even confirmed.

Now on April 26th I the petitioner received just a incomplete email from the consulate which has her ABD # & states that

" This office is pleased to inform you that it can begin to process your fiancé(e) visa case. Please read and follow all of the enclosed instructions very carefully." it also gives appointment date & time of May 30th, 2012 surprisingly no where does it state that it's been rescheduled (we never asked it to be rescheduled in the 1st place) & neither does it include packets III & IV. Infanct the email is just left half way asking to fill out

" Please note: A completed visa application (Form DS-156) should be filled electronically online https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp

Please submit the original Form DS-156 and DS-157 on your inteview day. "

No mention of any other forms or Medical Exam instructions.

My question is that does this normally happen, Embassy reschedules interview after being set without sending a rescheduling request? I have already sent in an email from the contact us section online inquiring about the same but yet haven't heard back, have been trying to call non stop all Sunday but no answer.

Any advise on how we should go about. Could the 2nd appointment - May 30th have been setup in error without noticing the original interview - May 14th?

We were planning on her going as per the original interview date May 14th with the appointment letter & also print the email which the embassy confirms - do you think this can cause any complications? Will they let her in?

Thank You.

It can happen-- it happened to us. Ours was moved sooner, not later-- but they can adjust their schedule and change your time. I would just e-mail the consulate and ask. I checked to make sure our interview had really been moved up a few months, and the replied in the affirmative. So just check with them.

Did you receive packets 3 & 4 when they changed your dates? Revised appointment letter with all the details or did you just use the print out of email which has the new date on it.

Thank You.

They never sent us any packets at all, so we had to just make up our own based on figuring it out. He also didn't bring anything that was evidence of his appointment. He just showed up. If you contact them, they will eventually get back to you and let you know if the interview has been pushed back or not. if they don't do it before the 14th though, I would print out the e-mail and just bring it with her-- and see what they want to do.
