Our case was complete on the 4th October, will the NVC answerphone message change to say when it was sent ?, becuase at the moment it still says "your case was complete on....blah blah"

Also do you think that it is too early to call DOS to see if an interview has been scheduled ?

Thanks in advance

It usually takes 1-2 weeks for the case to arrive at the Consulate. Try to call the NVC again and check the exact date it was sent. Talk to someone though...I have the feeling that the automated system is usually outdated. Since it was done last week, I´m sure you can get a more precise info.

Now, once you know when it was mailed, give it at least a week to call the Consulate to find out the date of your interview.

Hi,

The message should eventually change to "NVC has finished processing... and has forwarded your case to...". Your agent should also get a notice in the mail as well. Good luck.

The NVC automated system should say that your case has been sent to the consulate on a specific date. You can also find it out by calling NVC. They send the case via DHL which takes about 3-4 days to arrive at the consulate. At that time, if you email the consulate, they will write you back with an interview date.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
