about 2yrs ago I sponsored a friend (At the time I was married & both my ex-husband & I petitioned for him to come & visit us) from kenya to visit me in the U.S. However his application was denied for the visitor visa. After, my hyusband & I seperated my friend introduced me to his friend & we got along really well & of course as the story goes we fell in love. My question is: On the i-134 (Affidavit of Support) it ask the following question, # 10: I have submitted a visa petition to U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services on behalf of the following person's. Of course, i am going to anser the question honestly but i was wondering if this will cause my visa to be denied because i found out that my friend had been denied several times before I offered to sponsor him on a visitor visa.......i may be worried about nothing but could really use some advice. Thank you.

I did not know other people could file a petition for someone else's visitor visa. Are you saying you sent them an affidavit of support to sponsor their visit?

#10 is asking about the current petition you filed for your fiance, or anyone else you filed a petition for in the past. You would list your fiance here, and also anyone else you filed an actual petition form for in the past.

If you submitted an affidavit of support for someone in the past, then you need to list them in #9.

See example form: http://www.visajourney.com/examples/Form-I-134.pdf

Oh, and your friend being denied a tourist visa should have no impact on your K-1 petition and visa.

Your sent him an invitation letter you didn't petition him. It is like the difference between sending someone an airline itinary and buying them a ticket. The question on the form is asking if you ever tried to buy a ticket ( filled in and submitted all the official documents )

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

You never filed a petition for him. Just list your fiance in #10 like on the example form. If you did not fill out a previous I-134 and send it to your friend to take to his tourist visa interview, then you never filed an affidavit of support either.

You didn't petition him, you sent him a letter of invitation/ ;promised to pay for his stay. That is not an immigrant petition, and needs not be mentioned on your current petition.
